Gosh, that really does feel like an era passing.

My dad’s favourite singer. Always seemed a very dignified representative of that generation. RIP.

Lol. I like Springsteen, which leads me to the shocking revelation...is that you son?

My Dad was a child through the war, but even so his taste in music was extraordinarily old fashioned.

    Springsteen is no spring chicken!

Having said that, I like the Boss and I have seen him in concert twice.

I'm not at liberty to say, @Moose...:D

My dad would have been 84 this year. His record collection, which I inherited, is mainly classical and jazz from when he was in his 20s, 30s and early 40s (which is fine, because this is what I mainly listen to now). Then he rediscovered popular music in his late 40s and 50s. Springsteen, U2, Depeche Mode, Bob Marley, the Police and - somewhat less credibly - Boney M!

My dad would have been 90. I took his collection to the charity shop.

Actually that’s mean. I kept some, including a bit of Vera and he did go through a minor renaissance discovering Elvis, Neil Diamond and Simon and Garfunkel in later years.

But it was Vera we played at his funeral to see the old boy off.

GT apparently loved her in the 1980s and he was hardly a grandad :)

Graham's father Tom passed that liking of Vera to him I believe. The Forces sweetheart. She toured all over the place to keep the troops entertained especially the Forgotten Army.

She also used to refer to the WWII Veterans as "her boys" which is inherently transphobic.

She also lived to 103, thus producing high levels of CO2.
