I'm sure you're right. Next question: how can you have a 'World Test Championship' when different test series run for 2, 3, 4 or 5 matches?
The same way that Aussie Rules teams don't play all the others home and away each season. There are bonkers rules everywhere
Ended on 258 which may not be too bad. Excellent knock from Denly. Why isn't Hales playing? He's had a brilliant Big Bash. Actually he might still be playing in it which would explain it!
Archer out till the summer.. Seems like he has had a stress fracture for a whille but not been picked up!
Good to see England back to Winning ways today . Great performance from Adi and good to see Mighty Mo back in the mix .
We well and truly did in the 1st T20! Anyone would think they had a bet on South Africa going 1 up again..
The ICC were asked by the organisers if the game could be played Friday and they said No. Chairperson: Shashank Manohar (Indian) CEO: Manu Sawhney (Indian) Mmmm!
If cricket gets the go ahead to return the 100 blast will take priority. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/...oritised-ecb-draws-covid-19-contingency-plans

Everton Weekes named Everton by his Blues loving father. Great batsman one of the finest top-middle order players ever and a very humble chap off the field. Could have played international football for Barbados but ended up as a cricketer despite being barred from playing for his local club as he was not white. After retirement played contract bridge for Barbados internationally and a well respected and loved summarizer on TMS. One of the 3 W's the others being of course Walcott and Worrell. The last two are buried overlooking the Bridgetown Oval and perhaps it would be fitting if Everton is buried alongside as a fitting reminder when Barbados let alone the West Indies were a formidable cricketing power.
He did play for Barbados at football apparently, said so in the interview they had with him last year that they played during the rain relay. Must be one of the last dual sport internationals in football, think the last English international footballer to be capped in cricket died about 10 years ago
35 for one after 17.4 overs, grrr, we wait all this time for some cricket, and the weather gets in the way, typical England! Hope for better conditions next few days anyway! Dom Sibley apparently lost 12kg since the last time England played, wonder if it actually hindered him as he got out for a duck, Burns and Denly gritted out the rest of the day's play well enough though. Weird watching cricket with no crowd noise, yeah, it's not always the most boisterous, but I'm keep expecting someone to cut off the boundary before the ball races away for 4!
4 down for less than a 100 seems to back that up. Strange decision considering the weather for the two days was damp and overcast before brightening up for the weekend. Bowl first and then bat when the weather is better seems like a no brainer to me especially as the Windies are a far better bowling outfit than batting
Seems a bizarre decision. Overcast and wet for first 2 days so surely you bowl first and play Broad and/or Woakes ? Instead they bat and pick the 2 fastest bowlers ? I suspect it has a lot to do with Stokes' ego and wanting to be seen as agressive and positive rather than smart.
It's that time of year where you play the "how many wickets will go down whilst you do something else?" game !
The stupid decisons as expected have totally backfired. A low score after choosing to bat first in difficult conditions in which Broad & Woakes, had they been picked, would have excelled. Wood and Archer 0-113 so far....3 wickets for Anderson's seam...
