"A lot of faux outrage on here. The virus has gone into remission for the summer and the chances of catching the virus, as with the flu which peaks and then virtually disappears at times during the year, is minimal. Sure they broke the rules but breaking the rules is not going to result in the squad becoming ill at the moment in my opinion. They are still getting tested regularly so if anyone tests positive they would have to self-isolate anyway. Since the lockdown has eased cases nationwide have continued to go down which goes against the so called logic of a 'guaranteed' second wave as soon as restrictions were lifted. Countries that have had no lockdown including Japan, Taiwan, Belarus and Sweden have fared far better than lockdown countries. There have been far fewer cases generally in non lockdown countries if anyone looks at the statistics because they are other ways of dealing with the virus .

No social distancing on the recent protests or crowds at the beach but no upturn in cases, so it appears, because the virus has gone into remission. However, I suspect it may return in the winter. To be honest if it is safe to go on public transport with a mask on I do not understand why it is not safe to allow healthy supporters to go to football matches in limited numbers if they are wearing a mask. Before anyone calls me ignorant I have a Masters degree in Pharmacy."



It isn't fully safe to go on public transport, there will be transmission. But it's necessary. R rate needs to stay below one s oyou have to pick and choose which activities you allow. Clearly transport is above football.
The virus doesn't seem to be disappearing in the USA? Are you sure it's not disappearing because the whole country is in lockdown? The few thousand people on the beaches and protests is still negligible overall out of 60m.

We do massively lack likeable characters. Some because of there performances/effort on the pitch, some because of the way they come across outside of football.

Most of the squad are easy to dislike.

I've been hoping for that the past couple of years, but the bad smells still continue to linger.

 

I hope the club are also investigating Gray for his fraudulent claims to be a professional footballer.

 

Maybe gray and Quina have realised how likely we are to go down and this was their plan to try to get the season called off by causing a mass infection of premier league players ?

 

And the thousands on the beaches were two days ago. We can’t possibly know whether that will or will not cause a spike yet.

 

I’d dispute he is a saleable asset. Who is going to pay him 70k a week? He’s dreadful. The only way we get rid of him is letting his contract run down.

 

Let hope so but there are precious few saleable assets due to Pozzo incompetence. Most of our players have no value.

Suarez/Pervis maybe £20m-£30m combined. Who else? We are talking about a premier league club who after 5 years of TV money can sell Doucs/Sarr/Delefeou and maybe Hughes. The rest you’d need to release on a free because they are ancient or pay off because they are on too high wages. The Pozzo/Giraldi squad building has been dreadful as the external debt continues to mount. Utterly useless.

Have you seen the rest of the league outside the big 4? Full of bang average players. There are teams out there who would buy Kabasele, Femenia, Masina, Pererya, Cleverly.

 

Pereyra is a special case as his contract is running down so his value is compromised. Nobody would pay a fee for Cleverly. Ageing, injury prone and on high wage.

You might get a few million for the other three but this is our first choice defence you are talking about ffs. What a shambles.

 

Femenia is a 29 year old very poor defender who has had injury problems, and Cleverley is a near 31 year old, injury prone, journeyman, nothing player. Maybe someone would buy them, but it'd be for absolute peanuts.

 

There is a lot of money spent on rubbish. Somebody spent £20m on Alfie Manson for Christ sake. Look at the rubbish Fulham bought.

 

I couldn’t care less about Gray doing something so stupid as long as the club then exclude him from training/match squads until the next round of testing proves he’s not infected and fine him his wages for the time he misses (if not a week or two on principle).

I am very disappointed in Quina though, as unlike Gray he actually has football talent and shouldn’t be jeopardising his own career with such unprofessional behaviour.

 

We were desperate for a goal scorer. We paid the best part of 20m for a championship striker, who is about as good up front at this level as Danny Shittu.

That’s not Gray’s fault. But his poor application, brainlessness and stupid life choices are.

He’s a great example of everything that has gone wrong with our club.

The Pozzos have absolutely Andre Grayed up our club this season, and now we all give about as much of a **** about our club as Andre does.

 

Masina definitely, he's a good age and has had a good season. Pereyra will probably be off to Udinese for free (shame Wally isn't at Torino anymore to spunk £10m on him). Could definitely see some interest in Femenia and Kabasele, but we wouldn't be getting much for them

 

Surely you understand why a 23 year old Alfie Mawson who showed promise at Swansea was potentially worth a big fee and the ageing garbage Pozzo has assembled isn’t? Are you seriously expecting someone to pay £20 million for Femenia?

 

No of course not. I’m pointing out that if there are people willing to pay money like that for him then anything is possible.
