Because TV caters for people of all levels of IQ. Not just for those who can remember how to tie their own shoelaces.

I was hoping that someone on here would put their head above the parapet and say they found it funny and explain why. Perhaps that was expecting too much.

Mrs Brown’s Boys has won a National Television Award for Best Comedy 5 times and is usually nominated in this category each year. These 'peoples' awards and the fact that it's popular with Daily Star readers is all you need to know to form a judgement.

I can't decide whether some Scandinavian Noir would be better before or after our games. If before would a defeat not seem so bad? If after would we realise that some people have a life worse than a Watford fan?

It’s not Christmas until you’ve sat through the inevitable mid-afternoon re-runs of the Indiana Jones trilogy on those mind-numbing days between Xmas and NY.

Mrs Browns Boys is what I imagine the TV show of choice would be for some ‘clappers’...

A Ghost Story for Xmas is usually an MR James chiller shown on BBC2 or BBC4 during the festive season. I see this year they are going to be showing the Watford v Cardiff City match in full. Truly spine-chilling.

Not much of a ghost story but certainly a horror show.

I was very disappointed to see whilst going through the festive Radio Times that annoyingly (and presumably thanks to the effects of the pandemic) there is no new original ghost/ghost story for Christmas content this year - they are just replaying the stuff of previous years including the Simon Callow haunted recording studio and Peter Capaldi hanging judge trial ones on Christmas Eve - both good in their own right, but nowhere near the same thing as fresh programming...

Or even some of the lesser played older ones like 'The Ice House' or my personal favourite 'A Warning To The Curious'. "No digging!!"

Ironic that Mrs Browns Boys is more or less the sitcom in Extras that is designed to highlight how the population are mainly thickos who will laugh at anything, over and over again.

Guy dressed as a woman is the mother to his own wife, most of the cast are family members and even though it has been on for ages can barely read a line most of them. I dont blame the guy behind it all, I think he knows he struck gold so why the **** wouldnt ya do it? I expect most of you will be watching it after eating and drinking too much and laying in a semi coma on your sofas.

Scandi Noir before and after our games. That's what Catchup is for. Nothing lifts the spirits after a 1-0 defeat better than a naked blonde found dead in a frozen forest.

To think that BBC4 picked up The Killing in 2011 for absolute peanuts. The series that proved that there was a market for high quality subtitled drama on our screens. Hope the people responsible were given big pay rises as reward.

It started as a comment about WFC on TV at Christmas but, thankfully, morphed into a thread about general Xmas TV and then, being the jolly lot we are, took an obvious further turn from festive tv to Scandi Noir on tv.
And that’s what I love about this forum.

'The Valhalla Murders' concluded on BBC4 last night, and I enjoyed that a lot.
