I understand we are in a bad place glued to the bottom of the Prem and all, but who's with me on this being a challenge?

I know plenty will fire me down but at the end of the day we aren't a hopeless team, usually, just unlucky.

I've been getting it in the neck from my football friends, being the only WFC fan, yet most of them think we don't deserve to be where we are.

Obviously the money situation would be bad if we get relegated, but we've been in worse predicaments.

Who's with me on this being a big challenge? Challenge Phoenix....Phoenix from the flames.

    We ain't down yet......

I applaud your optimism, but the only way we are getting out of this mess is whoever comes in has the desired effect. As much as people get on HB1's case of being negative - he is being realistic, and after yesterday's SH horror show where the real Watford came out to play football - we really are sunk. Yes it's only December, but our run of fixtures now is awful. We had three previous games to get as much from as possible and we screwed it up. Norwich aside, (who btw are playing much better now since we gave them a kick up the arse), we crumbled in the SH of both Burnley and Southampton.

It will take a manager with real spice and energy to give this bunch if no-hopers the kick up the arse they need. Even if we get a top bloke in, we are going to be bottom three Xmas. We will get nothing from Leicester and Liverpool - so a slight chance of three points may come against Palarse. It's not totally impossible to do - but we look like a dead duck more than a Phoenix at the moment.

I agree we aren’t down yet and we stand a chance. But that’s why this next managerial appointment is so key - and all the indications are it’s going to be a horrific one.

Also, I can’t agree with anyone who says we don’t deserve to be where we are. Sure we’ve been unfortunate with decisions - but we’ve been the standout worst performers this season so far...it’s not even close.

We're down...No getting out of this mess with the full backs we've got.

Holebas and Kiko don't stop crosses...last night was evident how weak they are.

Gracia wanted defensive reinforcements and was given a 2nd rate CB and a £30m winger. He saw the problems and wasn't supported.

QSF inherited the same problems...a aging crap, injury prone defensive unit...It's a turd Guardiola couldn't polish.

So the fault lies squarely at the recruitment team's door - after the FA Cup final, the defence should have been overhauled completely - it was the shape of things to come.

Those favourites quoted scare the living daylights out of me. Hughton good Lord have the decision makers at the club not learnt anything! Now I'm fine with going down but let's go down fighting. Get that team who played second half against Arsenal out every week. The players are there. If we lose let's lose 3-2 and at least have a go.

In GT’s relegation season we had seven 3-2 games, winning one and losing six.

I was screaming from the stands last night for Holebas and Masina to close down the Saints player about to cross the ball. Neither of them within 10 feet of the players despite the fact to Saints player took his time

Blimey, there are 72 points to play for, and we are only six points from safety at the moment. Of course we are not down.

...but I might have a rethink if we we get Hughton.

No, but you can make a vomit purse and sell it to Everton for £30m by pretending it’s a silk purse.

    Football isn't like that.

Did you predict West Ham winning at Chelsea yesterday?

    I bet.

But if you did, then that means you even put money on the massive underdog getting a win.

I did...had it as a double chance home or away....granted it was an accident as I was meant to put it as home or draw.

I think we are all but down but this should be the sentiment from the team. I actually wish Troy would come out with some sort of attack on the VAR decisions and say it’s clear no-one wants us here and it’s time for a siege mentality. Us v the world. Get some fire in the bellies and come out swinging like Rocky on steroids. May even get the fans pumped and spark a bit of entertainment into match day. Let’s be honest we’re not going to outscore and out defend teams with pure ability.

Right. So Deeney is now encouraged to speak out of turn? That'll go down well on here.

There's a time and a place for these things though.

Telling another club you've just beaten - knowing you'll be playing them again - that they have no balls, not a good idea.

Telling everyone the team have a tactic to systematically foul certain players, knowing refs will hear this, not a a good idea.

Stuck at the foot of the table with almost no hope, saying something to build an us v them situation, not a bad idea.

Not at all, should have added 'in my opinion'.

Assuming of course you were actually attempting some genuine dialogue on the matter.
