[NOT HAPPENING] Cedric Kipre

Football League Weekly relaying the story from the Daily Star (so it must be true).

Cedric Kipre, tall centre-back currently at Wigan Athletic.

The 23-year old started out in the youth academy at PSG before Leicester City brought him over in 2014. Moves to Corby Town (loan) and Motherwell lead to Kipre signing for Wigan in 2018.

Watford & West Ham supposedly interested and with the Latics in serious financial trouble I expect he'll be one of many to leave the Lancashire club before the start of next season if their situation isn't resolved quickly.

He is 6' 3" and has a year left on his contract.

One has to question the ability of a player whose youtube skills compilation begins with them making a leg-breaking, red card sliding challenge:

 

Excellent, we need someone like that in defence. After watching that video, I’m sold. Seems like a no nonsense CB, strong in the challenge, leaves a foot in after winning the ball first to let the other player know he’s in for a game. It’s only a quick video, but he can’t be any worse than Dawson, bring him in.

Watching that video there are not many times he doesn’t leave an opposition player lying in a heap. Would probably be very useful for us in the championship.

 

My Dad was a centre back, he would of hated this fella. More time on the grass than his feet. A red card waiting to happen.

 

He certainly doesn't pull out of a challenge.

Indeed, opposition players may get tempted to wind him up to draw him in to challenges that could get him sent off - they'll stitch him up like a kipre.

I don't think it's too devil-may-care to state with some certaintly that Cedric Kipre had nothing to do with the disappearance of Suzy L given he was born 10 years after she disappeared.....
