I don't believe him. Even more so when he backtracked at the end.

Pure billy big biscuits interview and nothing to get in a flap about.

That became clear when you said he did an average job for us. He was absolutely dreadful.

There is a very long list of **** left-backs to play for Watford since Robinson left. He's among the worst. ****.

Is that a normal thing in football to have your contract paid off? If i went to my boss and said i want to leave, can i have a years salary please, they’d laugh. If they are going to pay me for a years work, they want a years work! If they offered me half a year and could just leave, whats in it for my boss? I dont get it.

Yes- think clubs do it loads of times to get rid of someone.

    Certainly a percentage anyway.

I am not sure many would get away with trying to injure other players though!

I suppose it reflects the fact that there's a finite amount of 'work' a footballer can do if they're not in contention for selection. Yet they're still paid their full basic wage while sat doing nothing. A compromise where the player gets less than their full salary paid up and in return is off the books for good would make sense.

From the footballer's perspective their career is short and they may have a better offer (financially or just better chance of selection) elsewhere. Depending on the stage of the player's career a year spent doing zip could cost them more in the long run if their development is harmed, or a friendly manager at another club moves on in the meantime and an opportunity to move to that club passes.

I think the wording is “ contract terminated by mutual consent “ with the club and player coming to an agreement on the amount of payment for the time left to run on the contract, I would guess this ranges from Nil, where the player is homesick and can’t wait to leave etc, to 100%, I doubt very much if clubs pay 100% very often as they might as well let the player train in a field by themselves (as has been suggested) and pay them monthly!

Anyone have any insight into this!

I genuinely don't even remember him. I thought we had a new signing or a new coach by this name.
