Still no answer to what your actual point is...

Are you saying racism against black people isn't real?

That racism against white people is equally prevalent?

    Or that racism is OK?

Would love to give you the benefit of the doubt but give me something to work with.

  2. There you go again with another of those large leaps of assumption

Where did I say people shouldn't protest discrimination against their race, class, beliefs or sexuality?

My point is you made an inaccurate statement "it's not white folks being shot by US cops"

"“Things have to change. It’s at a point now where … what is it going to take? People are complaining about the protests, they’ve always got something to say but they don’t understand how we feel. They don’t get it. All they want to say is: ‘No, all lives matter,’ but this is not the point. We are fighting because black lives don’t matter. That is as simple as it is."

My biggest concern is that I might get a glare on my laptop screen when I'm sat outside watching the game in my swimmers and sipping my mojito.

And yes, it's funny to note how statistics that show that black people are wildly disproportionately killed by police can be cut to suit the argument that black people are wildly disproportionately killed by police. Wild!

That's not a quote from my post.

    And your stats are misquoted.

    So what's your beef?

  9. Your pal said "Its not white folks being killed by US police"

However you want to cut it, he was wrong, US police kill all sorts. Trust me I've lived there.

It's a strange hill that you seem to want to die on, but it's your funeral if you want to look an idiot

That's interesting, but this article seems really weird because it seems to completely and purposefully ignore the context and possible logical conclusions that must surely be drawn from the dispoportionate amounts of black crime and incarceration.

Either the disproportionately high levels of involvement amongst the black population are an indicator of structural lack of opportunity and inequality, or alternatively they are a eugenicist polemic that black people are just far more violent and prone to crime by nature. I suppose it's up to each individual reader to determine which way they choose to interpret them.

    This quote?

"it has now emerged the FA is also taking disciplinary action against a post from July 2014, when he was a player at Brentford, that begins: “I hate lightys!”"

    Or this quote?

" Gray’s case is considered significantly more serious because of the sheer volume of tweets and their extreme wording. One read: “Is it me or are there gays everywhere? #Burn #Die #MakesMeSick”."

First of all, thanks for not blaming the people and town and football club of Burnley for the banner. It's seen as disgusting in Burnley as well. Black Lives Matter has its faults and can justly be criticised, but its aims and ambitions as far as race goes are laudable, and any protest should not be in the middle of a solemn silent commemoration and obviously should not involve divisiveness and National Front attitudes. I would be tempted to apologise on behalf of Burnley but as it wasn't Burnley who did it, just a few horrible people, I don't think it's my place!

The club has issued a statement condemning the whole thing and announcing life bans for anyone involved. The club is actually pretty active with life bans, given to everyone committed of any footballing offence (reviewable after a few years for minor offences - a sine die ban rather than life) and also willing to ban people for other anti-social activity. It must especially stick in the craw that they used the town/club name. NOT IN MY NAME.

But back to the football - if we play like that on Thursday, you can't fail to win. My best hope, judging from the way we played, is that Dyche sent them out to treat it as the last pre-season friendly, on the grounds that busting a gut to try and win the game might result in injuries, strains, a booking for Westwood to cause a suspension, and still losing the game anyway.

Our first XI isn't badly affected. Our subs bench scarcely exists. Two keepers, two centre halves, one left back, and two teenagers who I've never heard of. Gulp!

Yeah I didn't think it through to be fair, initially just thought what's the difference.

On a side note though I would argue that white people are also being killed unjustly in The UK and USA. In the last decade 163 people have died it police custody in The UK only 13 were black and 140 were white, the other 13 were from other ethnic minorities.

It's going to be tough when you're without Barnes and Wood.

They are not the most loveable duo but I think we're all jealous because of how effective they are. Big miss and from a selfish point of view it has to be the best time to play against Burnley. Will be vociferously supporting Burnley vs West Ham and Brighton if they are in the mix.

As for the banner... well far too many people in this country have shown themselves to have less dignity than my 6-month-old daughter and she sh*ts herself and doesn't even care.

Every club has their morons, it's easy to have a go at 'Brexit FC', when in actual fact every club has a problem (often larger than they'd like to admit). I personally can't remember hearing any racist comments at the Vic, but I do remember a very unpleasant Watford fan at Elland Road when I was a student up there, I really should have called him out, but regrettably I bottled it. On social media of course as well, it's far from uncommon to see lots of vitriol towards outspoken guys like Deeney, even from fans of the club where he is idolised...

I don't expect you to play anywhere near as bad as that on Thursday, I think it was Ben Mee came out and said that they knew this was gonna happen and it affected them. With all the other stuff happening at your club, I'm still fairly confident, but it'll be nervy for sure...

The thing about Burnley is their whole system is based on playing long balls to Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood and winning the 2nd balls and without them two they have nothing going forward, tonight's tactics consisted of nothing more than passing it back to the keeper to hoof it back to Man City. If they utilise the same tactics against us I would fancy our back four to be able to cope with Vydra & Rodriguez. The key for us as always is to get Sarr on the ball and I fancy him to cause Taylor all sorts of problems.

Thank the Gods were not playing Citeh.

Burnleys injuries, poor form vs Pearson, less recovery time, on a downer after being tonked.
    All in our favour.
Stand up toe to toe from the off and I expect at least a point.

With Burnley it's not the anti-football that bothers me, it's the tactic of intentionally injuring players from the other team. I heard Aguero hobbled off last night. What a surprise. I'm surprised their fans displayed a white lives matter banner rather than 'Neanderthal lives matter'. Burnley are an almost entirely white squad, intent on calculated violence against opposition players, supported by Neanderthal racists who travel to games by time machine from the 1970s.
