Dont really know allot about these two but they seem to be on the bench an awful lot. Are they good enough to play at this level or are they just making up numbers for malky's bench?

They're both on the fringes of the first team, got quite a bit of ability but quite lightweight for now. The experience of being on the bench and occasionally making appearances will be good.

Bryan came on last season at the end quite a bit and looked comfortable, good runner of the ball but just too light.

Saw Ming the Merciless play in the youth game that was televised last season. Looks quality, needs to break through though. I'd try and get him a loan till Jan in div 1 for a bit of experience.

Mingoia is supposed to have a truckload of potential apparently, highly rated.

Think he came on for the last couple of minutes against Leeds or somebody a few weeks ago.

the trouble with bryan is that if it rains and he gets soaked it will double his weight.

that said he looked good away at qpr last season.

maybe marvellous marvin has got the nod at this point and other players will be introduced as needs dictate.

a loan like hendersons wouldn't be a bad thing though, or even just a month.

Not seen much of mingoia to be honest. but from what I have seen of Bryan towards the end of last season he looks like he has good potential and a fair bit of pace about him to

From what I've seen of Mingoia, he is a quality player.

It wasn't funny when you first wrote it, it's now predictable and tedious :yawn1:

Bryan was excellent against Coventry in the last game of last season - very tricky player.

I'd imagine the physical side of his game is the reason for his lack of appearances.

They are both rather lightweight, but so was Ashley Young

Maybe we should feed them a few of these :drinking:

He is indeed English but his dad is as Italian as you can come, don't think he actually speaks English, definitely communicated in Italian with his son from the sidelines. When I have seen Mingoia, he has looked a good player but the problem is he is very, very small (I know Messi is but he is in a different league in ability to everyone on the planet!) and this does hinder him.

I like the fact Bryan is not afraid to run at the full back, definitely a good prospect but again perhaps a little light weight. He is only on a 1 year contract I think but I would definitely give him longer at the club and reckon he will get a chance if we suffer injuries etc this season. He is the sort of player than could do with a loan spell to get first team games but with the small squad we have, I can not see him getting that

Spain have the smallest squad in tournament history.

    Clearly size matters.

Unfortunately, The N-Power Championship is not LaLiga and in this league, size does really matter

Are you saying Barcelona would struggle in the Championship?

  24. Timbers

No cause they have better players. And though they have small players, the defence is hardly 5ft nothing.

Arsenal are prime examples. Can hammer the best of them but come up against a team like Stoke and they struggle

What gets me is that you can have a proper debate like this and people chose to talk seven sorts of mindless football shyte all around it.

    This country...

Bryan is only one injury away to Cowie or Buckley from starting I reckon.

Th eonly worry would be the physical nature of our league as said before but they'd have the tricks and skill to do well if given time.

Stoke will never win anything though. Neither will size alone.

If anything, a low centre of gravity seems to be central in excelling at football. Of course, you need your soldiers but ultimately it's those exceptional moments of skill, vision and desire that win prizes. Besides a small team is less compelled to hit it long and high, eliminating those lottery balls we seem to love and hate and the same time.

Believe me, I've been around enough coaches - usually English ones - who select players on height and fight - right across the team.

And people wonder why England are cack.

We need a midget academy, if only clueless Manky could figure this out we would be the top club in europe.

    Manky out!

If you have technique and ability size should not come into it. Aside from Messi there are the likes of Piatti at Almeria, and kids like Lanzini at River.

And look at Marko Marin the Serb at Werder.

This country is still obsessed by pace and power. Mingoia and Bryan both have technique and ability and we should see them integrated slowly into the first team.

And behind them Warburton, Isaac and co.

Good to see an ex youth player getting a decent career out of the game, if not with us. Interesting reading the comments from 7 years ago, pre Pozzo days where our hopes were pinned on the likes of Bryan and Mingoia, and probably Whichelow back then.
