BACK FOUR! FOUR THREE THREE! Foster, Ngakia, Kabasele, Cathcart, Femenia; Garner, Chalobah, Quina; Pedro, Gray, Sarr.
I thought Bristol had a Covid outbreak, yet it is our squad that seems to have vanished? EDIT: Oh. We do have an outbreak. Tremendous.
We can confirm three professionals from the first-team squad are currently serving a 10-day period of isolation due to positive tests for Covid-19. EFL protocols have been followed and the club’s medical team have been in constant contact with relevant authorities. #BRCWAT Sema, Capoue & Clevs?
I wonder if that had any impact on the change in formation? Hard to complain or cheer too much about the XI given we don't know who's positive, but a back 4 is a good thing!
Pretty good lineup but we said that at QPR too, did alright there first half but then he changed it anyway and we know the rest. If we do get an early lead, I would for once like to see some optimism and get a second cushion goal.
So as a result of the crazy decision not to sign a left-back, we start tonight without a left footed player. That midfield looks shocking. Nobody’s fault of course. You can’t predict or odds Covid. But it’s just another miserable piece of news in a miserable season that three of our better players will now miss three matches. Mapps on the bench for City.
Although let’s pray we don’t get any CM injuries tonight or it’s absolute bare bones time again. Decent defensive and offensive cover on that bench - but no in between!
Covid would explain Ken's performance on Saturday but not Capoue, who has been poor for a long time. As Ken is our only source of assists I fear the worst, not that I was overly optimistic before this news!
Doesn't changing to a back four now, at this point, with the same squad, make rather a mockery of Vlad's arguments for not being able to do it in every match so far up to this point
?? yet he still has the most interceptions per 90 minutes in the entire league, along with having set up most of our attacks when playing with his long-balls to the wings (which our other players are way more erratic with) ....
Pleased that Deeney has stayed on the bench; Vlad hopefully appears to have learned something there. I hope Perica gets on before him as well.
Good point, I'd have been tempted to start him there instead of Quina anyway then shift Garner up a bit.
