Eyebrows raised at this one. Sort of want to ask what you mean, although it may take the thread off track a bit. By any normal measure of a CEO you can surely only say Scudamore has been a massive success?

This has absoluteley feck all to do with Brexit. All brexit may change is the need for work permits for European players. Whether they are granted or not will be down to government policy and with a potential large salary to tax government would be stupid not to grant them to genuine applicants.

Football authorities have had more stringent rules regarding foreign players for donkeys. It's not helped develop home grown talent (despite that being their public reason) it's just helped the big clubs increase the gap to the rest.

Pretty much all the Footballing bodies UK and worldwide are not fit for purpose.

    I agree.

The riches of the EPL are untold.

    Largely achieved on Scudamore’s watch.

    Simple out there solution.

If we need players in the future to “plug the gaps” as they say, use corresponding players from the woman’s team. Going by the brilliant thread this season as always, some of them are more than capable.

Time to make football a full blown unisex game. Of course separate changing rooms. Some of the football I’ve seen from the woman’s team rivals a lot of what the men’s team can do.

I presume the above must be intended in jest.

Aren’t they in the equivalent of League 1?

It's ok, I could only find a pic of the pre-op "Fred". I believe the botox and "tidying up" went well.
Still, a girl running mens' football, are we ok with this ? First commentators, then linesmen......they'll be playing it next !

It's been rumoured that the FA will propose a deal to the EPL where they will have a "special" relationship with the Home Office to expediate non-HG transfers. But the concession will be foreign players are capped at 12, leaving 13 squad places for HG players.

After Brexit and the UK becoming non-EU, that will pose a problem across the football world. Any UK player who would like to play overseas, like Sancho, would have to be an exceptional talent as many leagues have a very small quota for non-EU players. Spain, for example, only allow 3 non-EU players in their squads.

England's rules will also change once they are no longer a member of the EU. Players coming in from South America, Africa or Europe will be treated equally. There will no longer an automatic work visa given to European citizens.

In Watford's case, it will clearly hit them hard. The signing they made for Pedro could see a way forward though, but the risk is a lot greater. Very young potential will need to be signed and become affiliated to the club before their 18th birthday. In Pedro's case we will just miss out on the HG status. Pedro cannot be signed before he's 18 years old. The first opportunity to sign him will be 1st January 2020, when in fact we are going to sign him. The problem is, unless the current rules change, by the time Pedro is 21, he still would not have been at the club for 3 years. He will be just a few months short. The rules state that to qualify as a HG player, he would have had to been affiliated to a club for 3 years before he turns 21. So, even though we've identified this player at the age of 16, we cannot sign him until he's 18. He will be 18 and a few months old before the January 2020 window opens, so we will just miss out.

Many deals are going to be very problematic now, and unless there is a new strategy or rule change for footballers, it's going to be very difficult for a club like Watford to operate with their current player trading strategy.

I'm bitterly disappointed and angered that I wasn't chosen to become head of the Premier League over that silly cow Susanna.

I took my time and effort uploading my CV to their advert for the job on Indeed and even added a personal cover letter explaining how I have spent 10 years [in-game] managing Watford on Football Manager 18 and how I overcame the troubles of the terrible in-game work permit system.

How on earth has this lousy sod got the position over me?? I could have really done with that £950,000 a year salary.... I doubt she needs it for anything other than buying shoes and nail polish... She's a greedy disgrace for taking a job she didn't need!

After i've cooled down a bit, I might go back on Indeed and apply for that position on I'm A Celebrity. It's only £500,000 but I might take a trial week and then feck off if I don't enjoy eating the Turkey boll*cks - a weird requirement for the position anyways. Either way, I think my CV meets the minimum requirements of being known by at least 1 person.

Here's a cheery thought , imagine a premier league where top spot is contested by Spurs and Bournemouth with all their English players

Totally agree with the Premier League's stance on this. There is no evidence that reducing the foreign players will improve the national side. For one, home grown doesn't mean English.

Right now, this particular England are the best side since 1990. So how does that correlate with what the FA are saying? It's a total contradiction to their case.

What they should be doing is not limiting foreign players, but increasing the squad sizes. Allowing 17 foreign nations in a squad, but also letting as many English players in the side as they like. If you cap it, then cap the squad at 30 or something like that.

So a club could have 17 foreign players and 8 home grown, as is currently the case, but are allowed another 5 English born players as well on top.

In any case, there is no limit on how many under 21 players you have in your squad. So, if the FA want young English players given a chance, then that option is already available to clubs.

Another alternative, is to make non-English qualified U21 players, part of the 17 foreign players. So they would have to be declared as part of the squad. You could then allow 8 home grown and as many English U21 as you like. That would certainly give clubs an incentive to play English U21 players.

We would have won the World Cup this summer if it hadn’t been for those meddling foreigners. Need to get shot of them by next June.

All players you state the country they will play for when they turn 18, then this rule could apply.

I reckon they should just let any player sign for whatever national team they want to, and perhaps if they felt like changing team from game to game they can do also.

A bit like takeaway food, some nights I fancy a curry , other times a Chinese or Mexican and occasionally something more homely like Toad-in the- Hole.

I’m not eating frogs legs though, that’s disgusting ....although I may eat snails if they re soaked in enough garlic and butter .
