Is joining Dundee United on loan. He desperately needs some competitive football so being kicked by some cloggers up in Scotland for a few months is perfect for him. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sp...ason-emil-lyng/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
Would be good for him to get some playing time, but I think he's better than the Scottish Championship
I don't think he's as good as people think, he was a positive in an awful second half of the season under Mazzarri that's all. The only way he'll improve is to keep playing competitive football though so fingers crossed this is the making of him.
I'm back in Dundee and a season ticket holder at Tannadice now so will be very interested in how he does. United have a new manager who is looking to bring in a few players this month. The quality up here isn't always the best but it's still playing in front of 5-6k at home and good experience for the lad. There's only one aim for this season and that's to finish top so anything Mason can do to assist will be much appreciated!
Hang on, Dundee United aren't in Scotland's top division? Who the hell is then? I dread to think what the standard of the Scottish Championship must be? Conference level?
Clearly he couldn't expect to be playing in the prem which contains such giants as Ross Cty, Partick, and Hamilton Accies ? Don't underestimate the quality of Brechin or Queen of the Sth.
Its only a very small sample but if the views on this thread are anything to go by he might just be back up or play of they sell a key player (probably to Celtic or something) http://boards.footymad.net/showthread.php?t=38210402&p=38752230#post38752230
The better teams in the Scottish championship are probably English league 1 standard at the moment but the smaller teams like Brechin City are part time and would struggle to compete even below the conference I'd say. The problem up here is lack of cash. Apart from Celtic, teams can't compete with wages.
Harsh I believe UEA. The number of academy players that make a living at PL level is tiddly poo and not by any means the fault of the academy. If the players have a professional career then that is a good outcome I would argue. Admittedly not what fans want but the competition is so great and the immediacy required is such, that clubs simply do not have time to wait. At least not clubs in our position. Good luck to him.
Remember when people claimed he’d be worth being kept as the back up LB this season? He’s only young and I hate to disparage one of our own - but if he’s not knocking on the door now when our full-backs are as bad as they are, this lad isn’t going to improve to anywhere near the standard needed anytime soon.
It was alas 1-6 in the end and there's now some chit chat that the loan has already been terminated. He didn't play yesterday and might have an injury?
You don't even have to be playing for Watford to get injured these days. If you are in any way linked with Watford, whether it's because you used to play there, do play there or were born there, you're going to live a life of suffering it seems.
