Which is fine if that is your opinion - but do that and bring in another midfield player on loan to replace tired legs rather than play a winger in CM.

You should probably grow up a bit and in doing so recognise that I'm not even claiming that - I don't think anyone is. There is a big difference between most people's actual view on him and your strange obsession with pretending he's the worst player at the club, however, essentially; refusing to even take any context into account.

Brilliant win never an easy place to go and we always seem to struggle in the North West, therefore to win our last two away at Deepdale and Ewood Park is excellent. The pitch looked to be playing very heavily and it was catching the players out at times. I think that we made that game harder work than it should of been but ayo it was fun to watch I suppose. I wasn't convinced with Troost-Ekong today I thought he really struggled, Massina wasn't great either. The midfield 3 were excellent and Gosling played well despite fading off a little bit in the second half which is understandable considering the amount of minutes he has had. Big Ken wasn't at the races tonight but one thing to be admired is if it's not working out for him he will always put in the effort and he buried his chance well. Zinckernagel also had his best cameo tonight in my opinion. Sarr and Joao Pedro are looking too good for this league on current form.

The view which saw him only narrowly lose to Kabasele and finish miles ahead of Cathcart and TE in the poll only a few days ago asking who should partner Sierralta?! No, I don't think there is.

I've never said that have I?

That's funny; I thought he was excellent tonight. Blackburn more of an attacking threat.

We’re not just already up, we’re already nailed into the top 10 in next season’s Premier League.

Intrigued to see who comes second, money is on Cardiff.

This is about 100x better to watch than earlier in the season.
Nerve-wracking at the end, but a very good away performance overall.
Sloppy goals to concede, but to be fair their first was a great finish.
Pedro's performances are showing how ridiculous it was that we persevered with Deeney / Gray earlier in the season (as 90% of this forum have been pointing out the whole time). I love him tbh. Pedro, Sarr and Sema, as we've said all along, is an unreal attacking line-up for the Championship. Our central midfield is also firing nicely.
Unfortunately I still think Masina is a real weak link at left back - can't believe he was our first choice in the Prem for a good while. We'd be a lot more balanced if we could get a proper upgrade there.
Team spirit is clearly improved as well as confidence.
Tough for Zinc at the moment, he seems talented but very off the pace in this league and he's only getting a few minutes each game. Would like to see him start a couple of 'easier' games. I think he'll come good.
I'm a bit worried about squad depth past our current line-up but we have what we have.
A top two finish is very much still on - I did not think I'd be saying that a couple of months ago! Well done Xisco.

Yes I agree. Chalobah, Gosling, Hughes and Cleverley vying for three spots over the course of the season is lightweight. Those four are good but we will need a bit more than that I suspect.

Typical, we've well and truly ended our bad away run. We've got 12 points from the last twelve. It was a great result bar some slip ups, which players from any team is inclined to do under awful conditions and the usual suspects focus almost entirely focus on criticise three players who didn't have blemish free sub appearances.

For example, Lowerrous is leaping about on the forum with his "I criticised everybody for thinking Wilmot was a good player last week and what happened today? Eh? What happened, eh! He made a mistake, that's what he did! Whoopee, aren't I the clever one." Seven posts criticising our players since the game finished, not one positive mention about us winning, every post was attacking our team. it seems that LR is only interested in his fading reputation!

Whatever turns you on, LR. But, let's all give LR a clap, I think he needs one.

As I said, this was a really good win but far from perfect. But we started well, scored first, we kept hold of the lead, we look decent going forward, we are scoring goals, the attitude looks better than it has done for almost 2 years, we are steadily breaking free of those awful traits that we have had for most of the past few months (or longer) and we have a good chance of going up. It has been a good evening.

I thought Cleverly was excellent. The thing is he pushes himself into situations where many other players chicken out of or can't be arsed. He disrupts the oppo, reads the game well and is hugely influential on the game. Yes, I know he lacks that little bit in his touch and passing, but he never, ever hides. A captain who leads by example.

Cleverley was excellent tonight. Always closing down and forcing the game. I also thought masina and TE were ok. At 2-0 we should have just been more conservative and calm, but we gave a truly sloppy goal away and then carried on in a way that could easily have been 6-1 or 3-3. I'd rather watch that than what came before this season however. It was a bit like the mad 4-3 at Bolton under Joka.

Probably Bachmann's best game for us so far, great clearance when we were exposed, and a smart save at the end. Did very well with the ball at his feet too
Kiko had another great game for us, probably POTS so far, Sierralta knocking on the door, WTE very shaky though. Masina was at fault for their first goal, though I thought he was fine apart from that in fairness
Hughes-best midfielder in the Championship, bossed the midfield, good full debut from Gosling too, not Cleverley's best game, but can't fault his effort yet again.
Sema was quiet for most of the game but popped up with the winner, though it might be time to rest him for Zinckernagel at the weekend. Sarr a threat all game, final end product wasn't all there, but he did score again so I can't complain too much! Brilliant from JP yet again, led the line brilliantly, and a great finish for the goal, he's on course to reach his target of 15 goals for the season!

Actually my first post was a positive one thanking Everton for Branthwaite, who was basically playing as our 12th man today.

Four wins in a row, 12 scored and right in he mix. Made hard work of it tonight as should have been out of sight but masses of positives to take from tonight and the last four games. 4-3-3 suits the players we have, I'm surprised nobody mentioned it on here. We play ore best striker up front and incredibly he scores goals. At times tonight I though we were excellent and but for some sloppy play we could have won by 4 or 5. On a side note I thought Armstrong for them was very good. Can see him going in the summer
Bachmann - I missed their second goal so not sure if he could have done anything about it. The first goal is a good strike but felt he could have done better, maybe that's a bit unfair but just my opinion. He is very vocal which is great but he needs to take control in and around the six yard box which is a slightly worrying weakness
Femenia - Excellent once again and it shows how good he can be when confident. Him and Sarr work so well together. Tireless running up and down the flank.
Masina - At fault for the first goal. In that position don't try and be clever, get rid of the ball. he lost it far too easily. Crossing again was poor. Better than he has been but need more
The Bloke from Chile - what a bonus this fella has been and how has he played so little football befoer coming to us. Comfortable with the ball, strong, good in the air, in fact exactly the kind of defender we've wanted for the last 3 years
Ekong - Bl00dy hell, where to start. His defending has been just about good enough to warrant a place but even that disappeared tonight which is bad enough but his ability on the ball is just incredibly poor and really should not start Saturday. He reminds me of Keith Dublin a bit and he was crap as well
Cleverly - Usual endless amounts of energy but was maybe a little too frantic this evening. Certainly cannot fault his endeavour though but taking his time a little more could have helped tonight
Gosling - Looks a decent and player and certainly glad we signed him. Probably not match fir as he looked shattered when he came off but is definitely a good addition
Hughes - Perry Groves said apparently that the problem Watford have is that Hughes Cigar might go out which sums him up perfectly. Always has more time than everybody else and for me he is one of the main reasons 4-3-3 has worked so well
Sarr - Another goal, should have had another but the outlet he provides with his pace is vital to our success. He is probably the one I fear getting injured over anybody else. Final ball could be better at times to be fair though
Pedro - Excellent goal, very brave knowing full well he could get clattered but kept his eye on the ball. Worked incredibly hard, closing down, beating players. Like Sarr could have had another goal and occasionally his decision making could be better
Sema - Better than the last game but is looking a little tired now as isn't getting beyond his defender so often. Took his goal well though
Subs - Zinc I thought looked a little better but I feel as though he is trying to come to terms with the pace of this league which may take a little time. You don't get that much time on the ball in The Championship but I certainly don't feel he's a dud. Gray. credit where it's due, I thought he put in a decent shift when he came on. Held the ball up well, won free kicks and did exactly what was required. Missed the last 10 mins so not sure about Wilmot but doesn't sound as though he did all that well
Onwards and upwards to Saturday lunch time. Bournemouth won't sit back either so should be another good game

Hmmm...did fine until their first, which he has to take his share of the blame for with probably his worst clearance of the night setting off the chain of events that ended in him being beaten at his near post. Others could have stopped it in between but he bookended a pretty abysmal 20 seconds for the team.

Masina was very poor for their first goal. The turning circle of a juggernaut.
Bachmann should have punched the ball away for the second goal. He should deal with a ball within the 6 yd box .Then again, his nicknane is not 'Dracula' without reason. Good save at the death though.
Wilmot was asleep at the far post and is too weak as a CB.
Awful pitch, terrible weather and 3 points in the bag
Tough game coming up on Saturday for sure.

yeah those two episodes show the beauty of scrubs , very witty but with the ability to be quite dark and sad., not listened to the podcast but will give them a go. I can recommend one or ZB later films , Garden State which has a kind of scrubs feel to it.

I ended up naming my kid Zach after Zach Braff (really was a very big fan of scrubs !)

This is a bit negative HB1. To me the big difference tonight and in recent games is that , having scored once, Watford have looked to push on and score a second or even more. Earlier in the season they sat on the 1-0 lead and were often pegged back. Sometimes, through defensive mistakes or decent play in attack, the opposition will score. How much better is it to be two goals ahead when they do? That attitude got us the three points tonight and long may it continue.

Wow, amazing, you really were! He actually talks about the process of writing Garden State in one of the early podcast episodes - each one accompanies an episode in chronological order, in case you aren't aware - they rewatch and then discuss it, and the access/things you learn are crazy, because of course it's literally the stars who were there filming and writing it at the time.

It's one of those aspects of the original novel that modern tv adaptations generally tend to leave out for some reason (just like Dracula actually being killed with a bowie knife) - The Count's inability to command his 6-yard box under pressure.

That weather! I know telephoto lenses make it look worse, but I don't think it stopped pouring all game. I was expecting Noah to come floating past.
So: Credit both teams for a relatively attractive and certainly exciting game on a mud heap.
Credit Watford for another fine positive performance in difficult conditions.
Credit Watford for getting the all-important three points.
Credit Blackburn for not parking the bus, despite a very poor run of results.
Blackburn's league position makes them look pretty average. But they are not really an average team: They are a team of two halves: Their attacking intent and ability is good, attractive and effective and their defence is too wide open and poor, with players who are probably not quite up to their aspirations. The final score-line showed this quite well: 3 (unusually) away goals for us but 2 goals (unusually) conceded.
Incidentally, your current correspondent predicted this. Just saying.
PPS - Armstrong has already scored 19 times this season, whilst playing for a team in 15th position. The much-vaunted (rightly) Toney is only just ahead of him whilst playing for Brentford. When does his contract run out?

Next summer, according to transfermarkt. I imagine if he manages even a single further goal, however (or even if not, frankly) he will probably quite fancy his chances at getting either one of the promoted teams or a Southampton or a Burnley (?) to take a punt on him - particularly if he only has one year left on his deal.
