https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47667742#top-link Leaves them 5 points above relegation with 8 games to go and have lost their last 4. Had a quick browse of their forum and their fans don't seem particularly worried, but I think I would be, especially given their current form. It feels like we haven't seen a points deduction in a long time.
Probably be a bit relieved as -12 was reported for a whille to be the punishment. Bolton and Ipswich are down but it's tight for that 3rd place .
Aston Villa, Derby and Sheff Wed all facing the same issue apparently. They have set the bar now so if these three “big clubs” are found guilty a minimum of a 9 point deduction should come their way.
Only 9 points deduction might just see them stay up, had it been the 12 points that had been rumoured they might have been struggling. So it looks like they might just get away with it, makes you wonder if overspending on financial fair play might just be worth it doesn't it?
Worked out nicely for us a few years ago. £6million fine or something the year we got promoted, less than we spend on backup ‘keepers now. Utterly pointless punishment.
Clubs that broke these laws should all have points deducted no matter what league they are in as getting promoted does seem to make a difference.
