Burnley have rejected a second bid from Watford for Gibson (SSN). So that's all folks. No incoming transfer business today.
Third loan bid rejected by Burnley according to Sky Sports News. Our offer falls well below what they are looking for apparently.
'GIBSON FRUSTRATED' Sky Sports News reporter Peter Stevenson at Burnley: “Ben Gibson is frustrated with a lack of game-time but the only way Burnley will do business today is if they can get in a replacement. But it appears at the moment, Gibson will remain a Burnley player. A loan deal has been rejected from Watford with Burnley saying it fell well below their valuation.”
Giraldi currently holding Eric Roy up against the wall screaming in his face for his own shortcomings.
Given we got him for a mere £6m by playing hardball you have to wonder what insane figure was being demanded for Oulare.
If they take Prodl and Holebas too, they can take them both for 5m, but we will pay that over instalments.
https://mobile.twitter.com/bodenknights/status/1223308861223919623 Gibson update online when our website updates, but with just under five hours before the transfer window closes, Watford pursuit of the 27-year-old remains the only live deal at Turf Moor, in or out - ball in Hornets' court
As I thought would be the case, the sticking point seems to be Burnley wanting a guarantee we sign him, either now or at the end of the loan. For me, I'd just walk away from this, as clearly Burnley do not rate him at all and are worried once we get him on loan we'd not be interested either and the secret is out. Right from the start there were too many red flags so hopefully time will run out on this one and we don't get stitched up by Burnley again.
GIBSON WATFORD UPDATE Burnley and Watford remain 'poles apart' on a potential loan deal to bring Ben Gibson to Vicarage Road, with four and a half hours left of the January Transfer Window.
I'm conflicted, but ultimately we should have been aiming for better and I'm certain if we do sign him, that's our defensive improvements for the next 5 windows. The club have learned nothing from their experience of making Dawson their only signing in the summer and are once again trying to buy a makeshift defender who may or may not be OK.
Alan Nixon just tweeted https://mobile.twitter.com/reluctantnicko/status/1223315011164082180 Watford. Burnley. Now trying swaps to get Ben Gibson move on.
It all becomes clear. We've got their Teddy and won't give him back unless they give us Gibson. Gino's planning a bridge of spies style handover.
Haha! Which one of our clingers we offering? Success? Prodl? Genuinely think we should offer up Gray. They can then get rid of Vydra to Rangers as well. Would suit all sides.
If you go on twitter, Burnley fans are actually asking for Gray back! We could kill two birds with one stone. Get a CB and get rid of Gray.
