FCB fans had a sign about the Hoffenheim 'owner' who has pumped lots of money into the club to get them where they are now. Similar to Leipzig but they actually existed beforehand.

The sign said "hurenson" which is son of a bitc in English. The FCB players themselves took offence to this and both teams walked off until it was removed. The two teams then shared possession for the final 15 minutes

Hardly the worst thing to be seen at a football game. Why did everybody take such offense to it? Seems overly PC

Fair play to them. Imagine if opposition fans unfurled a banner saying 'Elton John is a f*****g q***r' at one of our matches. Those who did it at the Bayern Munich match were so-called 'ultras', which to me usually denotes thugs thinly disguised as 'passionate fans'. Football doesn't need them or their offensive banners. It may not, to many people, be the worst thing seen at a match but that doesn't mean it is OK. Though it would have been interesting to see if the players would have done the same if it was 0-0 rather than 0-6 to Bayern!

The first thing that comes to mind is how that'll absolutely wreck all the data used for Opta etc.

https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1388329/Live/Germany-Bundesliga-2019-2020-Hoffenheim-Bayern-Munich - in fact you can see it. If you click the link then click "pass success %" and look at the timeline at the bottom. You can see when it starts to happen with both teams passing accuracy reduced to just 40% as they pass it between the teams as well as each other. For one minute both teams even had a pass accuracy of 0%. Will probably destroy some models somewhere!

[thread drift] Just as an aside what does the 16th position in the Bundesliga mean|? Do they have to have a play-off with some team from the lower division (which I assume has one another play-off)? If the 16th wins they stay-up, if they lose they go down?[/thread drift]

Basically yeah. 17th and 18th get relegated. From the 2nd division 1st + 2nd get promoted. Then 16th in Bundesliga and 3rd from the 2nd division have a play-off game to see who is most worthy of the bundesliga spot.
