Sounds like we have a LB lined up and also going by Ivic's presser yesterday. Who it is remains to be seen. Probably someone past it and cheap.
Optimistic. Sounds more likely to me that the club don't intend on bringing anyone in, probably against Ivic's wishes. Wouldn't be the first time they've acted in such a manner so it's expected in all honesty.
I've also heard that this is unlikely, although if many things change it might be possible. Also I've heard that we can get by if we keep Kiko, but we could also swoop for a LB if one becomes available. Ivic would like a PL quality player in that position, but the club will only buy a target that is the right value and will improve the team. Unlikely that someone will bid for Kiko at this late stage, but is still possible. Watch this space. #ITK #BREAKING
I am disappointed that my efforts to write a song for this chap will come to nothing. Time to see if I can tweak the lyrics and rewrite for another of our players instead.
But this was mostly based on someone leaving. If no one does then that’s that. Doesn’t mean the club wasn’t genuinely looking for a replacement. Still time for us to spaff some cash on a promising youngster never to be seen again.
Was it ‘mostly’ based on someone leaving? That was no more than a suggestion and could be equally true that no one had to leave? And as others have said - signing Murray makes no sense if we are genuinely so hard up that we can’t afford wages for a new LB. Not Zeegelaar - but if finances between us and Udinese are as fluid as some make out, I fail to believe that they don’t have an average LB we can borrow until January just to give the squad some balance. A less than ideal solution but I’d take that over no one at all. Sorry, but I think failure to bring in a LB is horrific mismanagement.
But we don’t need a left back, we need a wing back and Sema and Kiko have that covered. Of much more concern is the lack of creativity, but hopefully we have players who can come good.
But you’re missing a point - not having a LB means we aren’t adaptable and will become predictable in shape and style. We do need a LB and it’s a pretty widely held opinion - even the manager has alluded to it. Seems a bit silly to say we don’t need one just because we didn’t get one.
Again it’s a role Kiko can play and Masina eventually. It’s not my point that it wouldn’t be useful, merely that we are where we are. We have a lot of players and if we can’t shift them need to make do. That’s not the club fibbing.

Kiko can play there, but he's clearly not as comfortable there compared to the right, Masina is injured until next month (the end of the month at that, I believe) and I'm pretty sure he wants to leave in January (of course actually getting the move away is another matter entirely!)
OK so you want to sign a prem level FB do you as they weren't prem level ? Whilst still having 3 players capable of playing on the left, when short of cash ? Smart stuff.
