I've just edited my earlier quote #6, see above, as I think I was being just a little optimistic, but only a little.
I’d be amazed if our two wingers scored 15 goals combined - nevermind double that - even with a pairing of Danjuma and Sarr. They scored 28 combined in the Championship.
In fairness teams tend to stick 2+ players on both Sarr and Danjuma as they are the best players in their respective sides by a ******* mile and shutting them down tends to win you the game. it almost certainly won't happen, but I think Sarr could score ten next season if we had two other forwards up top with him that opposing defences actually had to be concerned about.
Understand what your saying and I will be a little picky by saying they're not going to playing as conventional wingers. So I will be hoping for around the 15 mark from the two. We already know Sarr is capable it's who joins him up top.
Ah makes me think back to the odd time when we had both Sarr and Deulofeu on form, made such a difference because teams couldn't afford to double up on both..
Sky speculating we might be interested. https://www.skysports.com/football/...mmer-transfer-window-and-what-they-need-to-do It is almost certainly rubbish, but would be sensational if true both because he is good and because of the bmuff tears.
Pure bantz to put a lowball offer in for the local boy Lerma aswell then farm him out to some Belgian third tier club if we got him
Can no-one spell his name properly for goodness sake? It's Dan Joomer, which coincidentally is rhyming slang for 'transfer rumour'.
I pray we don't sign Lerma, because I'd hate to have boo one of our own players if he ever turned out for us.
Aside from being a grade A **** Lerma is complete junk, £25m for him is an absolute scandal. You can see why Saint Eddie moved on and their owner didn’t want to have a say in transfers anymore.
Mentioned the managerial record? Check. Troy Deeney Talisman? Check. Unsubstantiated Vydra rumours? You bet that's a check!
Definitely the second best Colombian midfielder in the Championship last season, unless there's another one I'm not familiar with! A water-carrier, and an average one at best, I remember we were linked with him back in the day, dodged a bullet there for sure!
Yeah I think we were linked with him originally, he renewed his contract and then moved for about 5 times what we had been offering. I do think he is PL quality, but 25m for him is madness.
Some muppet journalists reckons Muff want 25m. All dependent on how much financial trouble they're in I cant seeing him going for less than they bought him for.. So I'd say a complete non starter. His Premier stats are gash anyway.
Bmuff as a whole were gash that season though and he had a pretty disrupted season Wilson looked ***** but has basically kept Newcastle safe single handedly. Depends who else they flog I suppose and who else is in for him. £25m seems a bit steep but I cant really see him moving for much less than £15-20m. I dont think they are in financial trouble but it sounds like their owner isnt as keen to bankroll them anymore like he did this season where he basically covered all their losses. It sounds like there will need to be 2-3 sales to balance the books, but they arent at risk of going under or anything like that.
I think it would be fair to say that we’d need to spend that sort of money on more than 1 player in order to stay up.
Think the Sky article has been taken way to seriously by other media outlets. There’s no way we will sign him. One article I did read however quoted that Danjuma is only on £28k p/w. How true that is, who knows? If it is though, we would be able to pay him a decent salary without breaking the bank. Just have to find £25mil to sign him first. Never happening.
Would prefer Dan Jooma given the choice obv, but I'd be pretty happy with Hauge instead. He's a good player. Way better than The Goat.
I think he just means you’ve done well to lower your expectations from Danjuma to Hauge - another few de-escalations and you’ll arrive at our real target Yannick Bolasie.
We've already bought him in the form of Baah it honestly wouldn't surprise me. I love Hauge and have made my thoughts on him very clearly beforehand. No doubt the standout player for Bodo. He would certainly be the cheaper option of him and Danjuma. Very similar in styles but Hauge is younger and probably the bigger gamble. No idea what value Muff have on Danjuma but I reckon it's well out of our range. Let's say 25m for Danjuma and around 10m for Hauge, there is only one winner atm.
Danjuma - £25m Hauge - £10m Heart say it would be lovely to get Danjuma as he looks quality Head says Hauge is far more realistic If you think we will spend £25m on a player this summer you may need to be prepared to be disappointed
I reckon the only way we get Hauge is if De Paul goes to Milan. I still look at Danjumas stats for the Premier and think it's a huge gamble for any team fronting 25m. Yes he was excellent in the Championship and looks like he could step up but can anyone in all honesty see us paying that type of money for one player? I honestly doubt we will spend that all together on recruitment. Added to that we're not really on friendly terms with Muff atm but it will be interesting to see how much clubs are willing to offer for him.
