    I'm not!

Will still be there next season! Will still cheer them on, drink beer, sing loud and proud and enjoy some good away days!

We get to go back to Plymouth, Norwich, Leicester, Southampton, Derby, Scum and a visit to Colchester :D

    Happy days!

We'll come straight back up anyway I have no doubt! We'll come back bigger, stronger and alot more experienced from this season!

We have an improving squad and we forget how young they are aswell!

Yeah sure financially it will be great to stay up BUT it's hardly going to cripple us if we come down! I think we need to thank the board for being sensible and not gambling our future away on one season!

Keep the faith, we'll be back!

Of course i'm bothered about going down. What's the point in promotion if we are just going to say ohh well lets go down and back to a lower standard of football.
Relegation should be deemed as failure and to be honest i'm quite frustrated at Boothroyd's lack of investment in august and we can say how we've had bad luck but we shouldn't be looking for luck. If we had players with enough quality we may be in with a much better chance of staying up.

We won't be able to visit the scum as they are going down! I didn't make many away games last year so looking forward to a nice break in Plymouth in early August. I don't want to go to Colchester though as i hope they go up (just in case we get record low points again, they will do worse!)

I'd prefer not to go down but if we do we do... we have done it before.. we'll survive.
The plus side is that it looks as though Forest will gain promotion so we can take the King to them and show them what he can play like with a decent side.

I understand what you're saying BUT don't forget we had a very small squad when we came up! One of the smallest in the championship in fact! We got very lucky last season with the fact we had no MAJOR injury problems otherwise we wouldn't be here in the first place!

I'm glad the board and Aidy didn't over spend in the summer! My only critiscism of Aidy's summer activities is that he didn't buy a proven goal scorer! I've had my doubts about Henderson at this level and felt King needed a better strike partner!

Losing King was a bitter blow and we were doomed from that moment really! People will look at that and say it's just an excuse, but it's not, it's a fact! When you lose someone that scored 22 goals the season before and you have a small squad it's going to hurt you! Chelsea are paying the price of selling Gallas to Arsenal and Huth to Middlesborough now that Terry is out for a while! They've conceeded 6 goals in 3 games!

Aidy bought in Foster, Powell, Priskin, Shittu and Francis... I think he bought in what we needed apart from a proven striker at this level!

No complaints over who was bought in the summer, if we had more luck with injuries and had a fully fit squad for 85% of the season we'd be ok! We haven't and that's the fact of the matter!

Of course it would be great to stay up BUT just remember where we've come from! Our squad is extremley young and they're not going to step up from the Championship to the Premiership at such a young age in such a short period of time! This experience has been a blessing in disguise for our players!

Bottom line is, promotion last season came too early! Wigan and Reading spent years creating their squads for premiership football and they went up at the right time and are now reaping the rewards!

I agree that it came too early and i don't blame the players really as they've kind of given it their all most of the time. To be honest if the blame is going to be laid at anybody's feet it would be Boothroyd's. He appears to be learning and that can only put us in good stead for the forthcoming seasons.

eg. We got in arsenal's faces yesterday and limited their creative players which we didn't do at their place and AB got the tactics all wrong at the emirates and it mad us look really bad.

Its not so much as not being bothered, after 35 seasons of following wfc, one knows the level the team is at. Having gained a very unexpected promotion for most fans, it baffles me as to why many fans think we could stay up at this stage. OK, at the begining of the season, we could hope for a good season. After 8 games we could use the excuse of bad refs and being unlucky, after 19 games and just one win, the proof is we are not good enough in all area's bar our goalkeepers. Simple and real. There is always the famous quote" never say never" but that is very much like having a poo - a bit of a cling on, on this occcassion. Accept and cheer the lads on anyway. Next season we'll bounce back and everything will be Kushty.

Chewy - Read the history of WFC and you will see the odds are stacked against us now - we had a chance from the start, but gathering just 11 points - we are now out of it.

I have bought a gallon of custard and put it in the freezer to go with the humble pie if we stay up. But i will not need it.

Again, the same as the players we seem to forget how young and inexperienced Aidy is as a manager! He's also learning all the time! I think he was very naive when we came up to think we would finish at least top 10 possibly Europe...we all got infected with Aidy's positive approach that we also believed it! The players have definatley been naive this season but that's down to lack of experience! You need to learn the harsh lessons before you can be successful! This is what's happening this season I feel!

Anyone who says they won't miss the Prem needs their head testing. The standard of football is far better than the CCC and if the club wants to build for the future it's the only place to be. The whole profile of the club is much higher in terms of media coverage and I do enjoy this aspect, particularly the TV coverage.

The only downside is the lack of feelgood factor through poor results and some aspects of ticketing availibility and pricing. Also the times of some matches eg Sunday 5:30 are APITA.

I don't think it is a case of we want to be in the Championship, I certainly wouldn't say no to staying up even if it came about by a dodgy italian match fixing style situation. However, it looks doubtful...

the standard of football is not so important for me - its the entertainment value - i believe contrary to all the media press and tv pundits, our games have been very entertaining in the main.

Football is about building and not about one season. This season is a building one as was last season. Last season our builders were succesful, this season not thus far, but we have shown enough to say that when we come back to this division we wil be stronger, more experienced and better equiped. That is not a bad thing. gaining experience and learning from mistakes at all levels including the running of the club. Yes the premiership quality is where you want to be, but that statement proves the point, that we are not premier quality yet.

On another notte - if we survived this eason, we would still be joint favs to go down next season and we very possibly would. On the other hand by going down this season, we have a very realistic chance of being here in two seasons time instead of fizzy pop.
Hope you had a good chrimbo Buddyfrog.

    Both arguements have valid points!

Sure the football and the quality in the Premiership is probably the best in the world!

From a working class fans point of view, we don't have to fork out £50 for an away game, we don't have to plan weeks/months in advance for away games and we won't be hounded by the media!

I hate all this press attention! The press are very blinkered and biased towards bigger clubs! Paul McCarthy in the People for example is a self confessed Manure fan and he did the write up on our game in August! I think he mentioned Ryan Giggs in every sentence!

I can't wait for next season!

So what you're saying is you'd rather be in the championship without these "gloryhunters" and be getting gates of around 13,000 than being in the premiership with gates of nearly 20,000 every week ?

Of course they're glory hunters! I'd count getting promotion as glory!

I'm not bothered about Vicarage Road being filled with glory hunters it's more the away games which annoys me! Arsenal away being a great example!

They won't be back next season but they will the season after when we're back in the Premiership!
