'Watford fans in general, are not as passionate as fans at other clubs but it cuts both ways. They are more forgiving and less viciously critical than at other clubs'.

no, the second bit i agree with, that is probably because of having had lows in our past, and we know how good we are to be where we are.

I dont think its a case as not as passionate so much as not so outwardly vocal.

Supporters who come on here are likely to be more passionate about the Club as we make the effort and are interested in talking WFC.

It is hard to generalise but overall i think that our support is quiet and not as passionate as many of the other clubs in the Prem and championship. That said there are too many middle-classed prawn sandwich types infiltrating clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal and Manure as we have experienced.

We know our support isn't the most vocal but we don't criticise quickly either...maybe because we don't expect to win games in the top flight and be fighting for cups.

Our history has shown we have punched above our expectations a few times.

There are a lot of sleeping giants around who would gladly be in our position because they have the pressure and history of success behind them.

I think we are as passionate as fans of other teams, we certainly sing loud away from home, and the lack of atmosphere at home is caused by the design of the Rookery imo.

However I agree that we are very critical of our players and managers. Was that comment said in the 99/00 season? Murmurs of discontent as our season fell apart, despite everything that had been achieved. Fans critical of not spending enough money when in the Premiership, all very similar to how many feel this season imo, we don’t enjoy the good times enough!

Also we are not that forgiving a side in my opinion. We still give grief to David Connelly after what he did around 10 years ago!

The comment was made along time ago in applied to his thoughts on our home support.

he was correct at the time and the cap still fits I am afraid.

Those that go away week in week out know our away support is good. However nobody can argue that for the majority of the time our Home Support isn't great.

I'm not passionate. I don't give a toss about anything.

If our support at every away game is like it was last night AB and the players can't have anything to complain about.

Singing Aidy Boothroyd's Yellow Army for a good 35 minutes was fantastic. Although Sky didn't comment on it!!

Hopefully more of the same at Newcastle.

As relevant today as it was then.

It's not that us guys on here are not as passionate, but more that our average supporter is more refined that the average (as demonstrated by most of the people who sit around me in the middle of the Rookery).
