Benitez has made an inquiry for the versatile youngster who is also on the hit-lists of Tottenham and Arsenal. Young (above) is seen as the wide man that the Merseysiders lack - with Jermaine Pennant proving a flop since his move from Birmingham. He would also be available for Champions League action.
