I'm convinced that this season is all part of an Amazon Prime/Netflix docuseries that we'll see the trailer of in a few days after the season... They must be kicking themselves that they chose Spurs with a pretty mediocre season (albeit with the Mourinho appointment) over the Vicarage Road Circus. Just think of everything that's happened in the past 12 months: Sacking Gracia Re-hiring a QSF from nowhere 8-0 defeat vs. Man City VAR decisions New badge debate Replacing QSF with Pearson Win vs. Man Utd Signing Joao Pedro Blowing a 3-0 lead v Tranmere, then losing the replay Back-to-back defeats in stoppage time v Everton and Villa (including that mad 1st-half stoppage time v Everton when we let Mina score twice) Stopping Liverpool going the season unbeaten Deulofeu ACL Mariappa + another catching COVID-19 Deeney refusing to train due to COVID-19 Rumours of moving to new stadium Rumours of players owed bonuses Pape Gueye signing fiasco Gray's birthday party Pearson sacking and incident at West Ham Relegation battle going down to the final day? Exhausted after just thinking about all of those. Anymore for anymore? Name suggestions?
Someone said something similar to this as well earlier (unless it was you) but sorry to burst your bubble, but that literally already exists. It's called 'Behind the Badge' and it aired on NBC in the US: https://www.nbcsports.com/video/behind-badge-watford-fc-episode-1. I haven't watched, but it's from the Wally season, so I imagine it's ridiculous.
You’ve got to admit that it’s never boring being a Watford fan. I’ve been supporting WFC for nearly 50 years and this has been the most stressful season ever. I was praying for it to end after the Palace game as we were out of the bottom three and I knew it was going to be a horror show if we restarted . . Since restarting it’s been a mix of elation and total depression. I can’t wait for it to end as my nerves are shattered. I get the feeling that staying up has never been more important than at any time in our history.
Coming soon The Watford Way : How to earn quick compensation in football management. Only on Prime Video.
**** it, should have one for the entire Pozzo era, hands up if anyone saw any of this coming when we were going bust under Bassini
The club would never let it happen. Why on earth would famously private and shady Gino let cameras into the club? It would probably be more likely to end in an arrest than anything positive.
I was thinking after Pearson's sacking that you could create a whole joke book based on this season alone.
Off topic, but there's a series of mini-documentaries on YouTube called Copa90stories- Derby day's. Some of the more obscure Derby's are very interesting for historical and cultural info as well as football: Mallorca v Baleares Atalanta v Brescia Just two examples, but have enjoyed all of the episodes I have watched.
