Case, whilst the holder of some incredible stats at college level, does appear to have too much holding him back in making it in the NFL. Having said that, I'd love to see him prove people wrong.
And what is wrong with that? The Titans manfully struggle towards mid-table mediocrity just like Watford. It's a pretty good match!
He's not quick and he hasn't got much of an arm. What he does have, is intelligence and decision making skills. The air-raid offense at UH was perfect for him, short passes, quick tempo, just find the open receiver ASAP and let him make a play for you. Then do it all over again before the D-Line gets set. He'll be a reliable back-up in the NFL, because he's never going to make stupid decisions and throw the ball away. But yeah, can't see him ever being a starter. Kubiak loves him though and Keenum has shown he's got the determination/work ethic to prove people wrong, so who knows. The fact that up until the Conference Championship debacle against So Miss (thanks Sumlin, mind on the Aggies job) he was being mentioned in the running for Heisman says a lot for what he achieved. Funny thing is, RG3 was committed to UH until Art Briles went to Baylor and took him with him. Could have been very different for both guys!
This season I will be following the RedSkins after much deliberation, mainly because I love RG3, plus Roy Helu. Despite being smashed by them the other night, I do also have a soft spot for the Bucaneers.. hopefully they do well too. When it comes to college football, I follow Mike Leach.
Last year I really got into it, but only around play-off time. This year I'm going to try and watch a lot more, I'll follow the Dolphins just because i've been there twice, and have some merch. They're not very good though are they?
As of right now he is more of a media icon than football player. He won some games last year with the help of a good defense. But the hype around him gets tiring considering he is a back up QB
Do you guys want to try a Pick'Em to keep focus? Kind of fun...and super easy. Just pick the winners and losers each week, the the person who picked the most winners at the end of the season gets bragging rights all through the off season. Fantasy is too hectic...it is really complex and interesting, but the level of attention required to succeed is beyond my capability.
I set up a group for those interested: Group name: WFC Forums The game includes an indicator of which teams are being picked by players to make it super easy to see what most people are guessing... Like I said easy game, long long season. Who is in?
I gave the fantasy a shot this year, mostly because it was fun doing the draft. I can imagine that I'll begin to lose interest as the year goes on and it moves beyond my limited understanding. I'll give this Pick'em game a shot though. In answer to the Tebow query, I like the guy and I like the way he manages to polarize opinion. He's a good role model for getting the most out of your limited ability. It can get a little tiresome though.
When I've got 10 mins tomorrow I'll try and enter. We did one of this on the old thread and it worked out quite well.
I'm in, I'll sort it later today. Out of interest does anybody know how I can watch episodes of Hard Knocks in the UK? I managed to get 1 and 2, but none beyond that. Netflix told me they had it, I signed up again, and then it wasn't available in this region (****s). Always been a casual observer of NFL until last season when I really got into it. Niners caught my imagination in that epic against the Saints, so I'll be following them. I think they should win the division, despite the growing hype around the Seahawks and Russell Wilson.
im in for that pickem thing. i fell off american football a bit while i was away at uni. now i am back home, degreed up and jobless, i'll probably get back into it. hows everyone doing?
After much deliberation and hours of madden, I have made firm choices on my teams for this season. 1) The Detroit lions - I have loved them since they were ****, now they actually have a chance 2) The Texans - That offence is immense, if Schaub can deliver then they will go far I'll be paying special attention to the Redskins and the Panthers purely because they have my favourite QB's in the league.
Good job Ben HornetCP, you're the only one I know who picked the Cowboys to beat the defending Super Bowl champs at home on opening night. Was that just a mistake?
I backed it at 8/5 with paddy power, god bless you Tony Romo. I was very worried after that first quater, Ogletree looks a player.
Looks like I'm the only one who predicted that one last night. This is as good as it will get for me this season. Top of the league!
So I've just finished my first NFL Fantasy Draft. My team consists of: Tom Brady, Peyton Manning; Darren McFadden, Cedric Benson, Isaac Redman; Wes Welker, Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Jeremy Maclin; Vernon Davis, Coby Fleener; David Akers, Dan Bailey; Niners D, Bears D. I think I've done OK, don't know why I picked up Maclin or Fleener though when if I'd been a bit more patient I could have got Vincent Jackson and someone like Brandon Pettigrew. Plenty of trade material if needed as well I think.
Someone picked the Lions D. I'm hoping they'll panic and trade me for the Bears when it doesn't work out. Same with Peyton Manning. Already traded Cedric Benson for Marshawn Lynch, which seemed like a no brained to me.
