Take some Norman Wisdom videos for bartering purposes. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wo...lbania-pays-tribute-to-Sir-Norman-Wisdom.html
This is the best route to get there. Mind the road works. ...and good luck. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/W...6983bee!2m2!1d20.168331!2d41.153332!3e0?dcr=0
We drove to the border last year when we stayed at Prespa lakes in Greece. If the 200 yards worth that we saw is 100% representative of the country, it looks nice .
Get yourself a t shirt with their former leader Enver Hoxha on it - they loved the easy going bloke, his cheery wife and the riches he brought Albania. You'll make lots of friends.
Ask Will Hughes I think he is from there. Google maps says it's goign to take more than 3 days if you're going to walk there.
That's St Andrews isnt it? I remember when the England national side played in Albania sometime in the 80's and the fans who managed to make it over there had to have their hair a certain length to get in the country. The Albanian government laid on barbers at the border to cut any dangerously coiffured barnets. Im sure it's a bit more relaxed these days.
Assuming you're flying into Tirana, BunkArt (not BunkArt 2) is really interesting. If you get a public bus back into town theres a brilliant food market that runs all day near Rruga Shenasi Dishnica. 3 days isn't much... Where exactly in Albania are you going?
