I though he fitted straight in today, will have harder games but didn't look out of place

I really enjoyed his interview. Seems like a good guy. Very respectful towards Watford. Mentions Watford being a big club lots of times. Wants to stay for a long time. Big mates with Fessi.

 

He's clearly learned lessons from the past and is going to knuckle down with us. Will be excellent in the Premier league next year.

Looks a lot like Holebas. Will probably play a lot like Navarro.

 

I never thought I would live to see the day when I hear a player transfer from Newcastle and say he is glad to have come to a big club!

I was fooled by 10 minutes vs Bristol City. At last a worthy rival to Matthew Briggs as the worst left back to play for us under the Pozzos. If you go for the cheap option then don't be surprised when they turn out to be crap. Another one I hope to never see in a Watford shirt again, not just because of the underhit backpass, he just seems incapable of doing anything.

Not anymore. A catastrophically shyt player. So bad he will be actually be partly to blame for us missing out on promotion.

Hopefully Masina is well enough to play on Tuesday but, if not, what do we do about left back? Do we keep Lazar out of the team by playing somebody out of position (Sema, Wilmot?), or even change to three at the back again?
I suspect Munoz would stick with Lazar.

 

Gino doesn't seem to see any value in scouting defenders. He just gets pegs in for holes. You're a left back, within budget? In you come. You're a centre back and 8th choice at Udinese? Signed.

We've never put any thought or consideration into the type of defender we need or the level of quality. We just sign 3,4,5 defenders, cheap and hope they somehow form a unit. It's been an issue throughout the Pozzo tenure.

 

I hope not as a back three would be preferable, especially with Kiko being unavailable also.

 

And then, when a defender has been proven to be not good enough, time and time again, and ageing and declining, we reward them with a contract extension, so that we don't have to think about improvements in that area.

 

You get what you pay for isn’t always true in football, but unfortunately in this case he is playing up to his billing as an out-of-contract left back cast off that nobody wanted but would fill a squad place void.
Sarr on the other hand still fits the over-priced and over-rated category. I remember it was between either him or Maxim that went to Newcastle. Maxim was cheaper and he looks twice the player Sarr is. He runs at players causing the fear factor. Sarr is a good player no doubt about it but i expect much more from him. A direct approach to taking on his man and his crossing is woeful at times.

 

I'd rather we played anybody other than him, Sema at the back and Hungbo in front of him, might work.

 

Sarr is a 1-in-5 matches world class player. If that.

We have to just pray he's still got a couple in him left this season.

Deulofeu was similar (but much much much better).

 

I'd play Deeney at LB over Lazaar. Literally anyone who is a professional footballer would do.

 

Now we know why!

 

Absolute gash. I'd quite honestly play the U18 left back knowing full well that he'd be totally annihilated. At least he'd have an excuse whereas Lazaar is a 29 year old Moroccan 'international' with nothing between the ears.

Seeing as he was definitely definitely brought in as a first team player (paging HB1) I'd be very surprised if he's not starting tonight

 

I feel a bit sorry for him. He's not the first Watford player to make a stupid pass around defence but his happened to be punished.

That said, he isn't good enough and shouldn't play today.

 

Can we just get promoted at the end of the season and just forget he ever existed?
