A Stockport Fan At The Watford Fringe

    Evening all,

A Hatters fan here. (A nice one from a club in the North West you're probably not arsed about, rather than one of the Neanderthals about 18 miles north who you'd probably do time for.)

Been to Watford 5 times in my life. All for County games at Vicarage Road. Favourite moment was about 3,000 of us going berserk in the FA Cup, taking the lead as a League Two team when you were in the Prem (before you went on to hammer us 4-1). Worst moment was a 1-0 defeat in 1996-97 (Tommy Mooney penalty), which is honestly one of the most boring games I've ever been to.

Excitingly, I get to treat myself to a whole 4 nights in Watford in October, which is literally going to be my only holiday of 2020.

I know there's still good solidarity amongst football fans, so I'm reaching out and seeing if any Hornets will come along and support my comedy show I'm doing at the Watford Fringe. I had a temporary job at Tesco at the start of the Coronavirus outbreak, and got sacked after 8 days for writing a comedy diary of my experiences which got over 1,000,000 views on Facebook, and the show is based around that so you will have a giggle or two I promise.

I'm at the Pump House Theatre on the Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and The Tudor Arms on the Friday. Loads of different times ranging from the afternoon to evening, so plenty of choice. Tickets are here: http://watfringe.co.uk/whats-on/?event=50694

And if anyone has any suggestions of how to spend 4 days in Watford, or fancies joining me for a beer and a football chat, that will be greatly received as well.

If you’re struggling for material, just watch one of our games whilst you’re here. Or failing that, last seasons ‘highlights’ DVD would more than suffice.

I once went to The Sir Robert Peel pub in Edgeley after going to a Stockport County game.

Best pub I have ever been to in the UK. I have genuinely never seen anything like it.

I went to a pub in Stockport after we drew 1-1 under GT, can't remember the name. The landlady told us off for swearing and said to "Go back to Watfordshire if you want to use language like that".

We're on at 6.30 on the 4th. I'm doing a production of Sophocles' Oedipus. Happy to buy you a beer around the theatre.

I don’t live locally, but - come on Forumites, support @wfcmoog . Oedipus is a right laugh, all bedwetters will enjoy it.

(Sorry Stockport chappie, have hijacked your thread a bit).

It's literally a bedwetter's wet dream. I shag my mum, kill my dad and poke my eyes out with pins. It's Gino's biography.

Yes, his mummy proudly told that he's also wearing big boys pants now AND he can almost wipe himself clean.

Given the Oedipus subject matter, was this really necessary?

It's always necessary if it involves you.
