So for those that do know (and for those that don't) I made the move down under last December. Quarantine was a thrill but what was good was experiencing life at a pace that was almost back to normal.

One of those things includes going to footy games and I've now developed a liking for Adelaide Utd (where I'm currently living). Admittedly the footy is League 2 level but it's nice going to games and getting that match day feeling again.

The reason why I'm starting this thread is not to brag, but more to see if anyone is following any A-League?

Is "A" for Aussie League? And by the way the answer to your question is no in my case

PS I've always thought that Adelaide looks nice when I've seen it on "Wanted Down Under", how are you liking it?

My brother lives in Brisbane and occasionally goes to see Brisbane Roar.

I have a friend there who also sometimes watches Brisbane Roar but I’m not sure if he’s been since they moved from the big SunCorp stadium to the small rugby ground they use at the moment.

Back in the good old days when we could go out and get nice and pissed at the weekend I’d stick it on BT the following morning and feel sorry for myself.

It nearly always seemed to be the spin-off club (from Melbourne maybe) of Manchester ‘Scumbag Cheating ****s’ City. Gave me a reason to cheer on the oppo at least.

I liked seeing the slightly washed up former top championship players of 7 or 8 years ago. The quality is generally shocking though.

Good for you for going to watch your local club though. Is it the same down under as in America where 90% of soccer fans only seem bothered about Liverpool and Spuds?

    Congrats on the move!

How's Adelaide? Are you enjoying it out there?

Very jealous, I love Oz, I’d happily move there. I did as a kid and lived there for a bit but we moved back. I’ve got family in NSW down in the sapphire coast which is beautiful. Personally I really like the whole FNQ area. On the flip side I personally feel Sydney is one of the most overrated places ever, especially Bondi.

Anyway, like Filbert occasionally watch the odd bit and especially if there is an old English player playing.

Just flicked over and funnily enough Newcastle Perth is being repeated on BT sport, what is going on with Newcastle's ‘ground’ it looks like a park? Is that Covid related?

I guess it's for Australian/Aussie league, but it's always been called A-League since its inception.
The Roar are still at that rugby ground, they're not too bad at the moment. They've always struck me as a unique club trying to play off their Dutch roots.
The quality is immensely bad, horrific at times. Simon Cox is still playing for the Wanderers and scoring goals for them- that's how bad it is. It's still much better to watch local footy though. As for Melbourne (Man City), they're not liked for the obvious reason, but more hatred of that ilk goes to Sydney FC as they were the initial club to splash the cash.
So looking around, that's not their main stadium. It's either a COVID thing or more likely they're playing at smaller towns in their catchment area to gain support. It's basically a Sunday league pitch though
How comes you worked in the Hills? You must've snuck off to Lobethal to get your hands on the wine!

To sum up, I'm loving it here and even though I'm working harder than I have back home, the quality of life is better to be honest. I'm still in my honeymoon phase though so I'm wary of being too happy about it here. Adelaide itself is a "big country town" by Aussie standards but it's a good place to settle down and it's got more than enough here.
