so he's some sort of hero now is he?

Let me put it to you this way. He's still planning to **** off to Italy, he still back heeled a pass in the dying minutes of the game instead of blasting it into the goal which was covered by a rookie 2nd string goalie...basically he did not much of anything for 60 minutes, tried hard to get a red card for 10 minutes, did his job for 10 minutes and then got cute for the rest. No bonus points today.

One final point about the 3 games of the Superclasico:
Chivas failed to score on the Galaxy at all this season.

Last season, the Galaxy would have lost last night's game 2-0, but Arena's tactics, the forced backseating of Beckham as 'team leader', far improved chemistry on the team as a result, and excellent player selections, particularly the two rookies AJ Delagarza and Omar Gonzalez (backfield teammates at NCAA Champion Maryland last year) have really changed things for the Galaxy.

    Hey Fitz,

Could any of your guys do a job for "The Horns"? Send 'em over if you think they could, we could certainly do with some help.

Landon Donovan would tear up the Championship, and even be a very solid Premership player. if you had him, you would forget Tommy Smith ever existed. Marlon King, too. Omar Gonzalez has 2 more years of playing at the level he is playing at to get a European contract. I love his game. I may be wrong, but I think his top speed is a little too slow for MLS, which if you are playing smartly in a good system may not be as huge a liability for a player in England as it is in the US where athletic talent is the most critical. He could do WFC very well. I don't think any of our strikers are quality beyond MLS, which is par for the course for US grown players.

Fun fact: Ian Feuer is the LA Galaxy's goalkeeper coach.

Anybody remember him playing for a certain shyt club just up the road a ways from Watford?

I don't actually remember this guy, but Kelvin Davies who came on when he injured his shoulder is still playing (I think?).

    I see.

Would still be a huge flight to some of the teams though.

Jesus, won't want to be messing with him in training then.

He's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, dedicated to the craft of goal keeping...

I have to say I was a little sickened to realize he played for Luton...my head literally spun for about 10 seconds.

Beckham's game winning strike is up for Goal of the Week at the MLS site.

When you click on the link to vote for him, you get sent to a wiki site for the movie Traitor starring Don Cheadle...

    Try it...

WORST GALAXY GAME OF THE YEAR

I was disgusted by the 20th minute by the open door policy the left wing and backs had. The back line was warped beyond hope from the get go, although Gonzalez and De La Garza, the rookies, tried to make up for the veterans suckitude. De La Garza scored two goals to equalize...

However, the final was 6-3 in favor of lowly miserable Dallas. It seems each year Dallas is involved in a mega-scoring affair with the Galaxy...too bad it didn't go our way this time.

Beckham shook his fist at crotch level while preparing a corner in front of our section despite us cheering for him. What a ****.

Could be. But it's not like Beckham hasn't done stupid things in front of Section 138 before.

While Isaac writes the best previews, Catamount writes the best post-game analysis among the Riot Squadders. A player and coach, he has a great eye for the game and pride about the way Americans play it.

The tool AEG is using to get more attendance isn't working.

I wonder if they remember selling out most games to Galaxy fans when they were winning championships with solid but relatively unknown players? Because I do...

  28. sonofben

    sonofben Reservist

So they are just letting random people let the players walk by them pre-game? Or am i missing something?

  29. Fitz

    Fitz Squad Player

No, they sell packages to AYSO teams that includes standing in that line which is shamelessly known as the "Parade of Champions" or some such ridiculosity.

I'm sure they are outrageously priced.

EDIT: you will find out soon enough what corny things teams stoop to for attendance boosts, Philly fan...

Oh i am sure there will be many many corny things in Phila.. but you gotta do what u gotta do. If we fold after a couple years i will have to go crawling back to the Red bulls... or give D.C united a shot..

Will that mean another bet with Drew Carey then? Or has my memory gone completely and Drew's team was another?

  35. Fitz

    Fitz Squad Player

You are not wrong, though I have no idea if there will be another bet with Carey.

By the way, the scenarios given are just what would happen if the playoffs started now...we still have a couple weeks to go. Galaxy could easily collapse and miss the party...
