So no prizes for any who guessed the graph would look tonight!!! I haven't had time to do the comparable fixtures one yet, but I think these are enough for us to feast on for now...

Best ever start in the top flight (by 3 points) - better than last year by 4 points. But graphs and stats are just noise ... the main thing is ... we finally beat Spurs in recent history!!!

Also, we have 30% of the points infamous 40 point target, after 10.5% of the games.

Putting that into results, to get to 40 points we need to win 6 games, draw 10, and lose 18, of the remaining fixtures...

I'll be starting the relegation thread on Monday before anyone beats me to it.

    Competition time.....

After which game do we feel David will decide to change the scale on the y-axis?

I'll go first...after game 12 when we hit 26 points and the graph starts to look silly otherwise.

Man City’s record won’t be standing for long then.

We played this game last year before the wheels fell off our season. I genuinely believe this year will be different.

    Here we go...

"In 2014/2015, Leicester finished 14th in the Premier League, with 41 points and a record of 11-8-19. The following year they won the league.

Last year, Watford finished 14th with 41 points and a record of 11-8-19..."

I'd be very happy with 8th.

The main thing I'd like as a fan is to actually have meaningful games to watch all season rather than being safe in january with no chance of Europe due to **** form.

It's why I'm normally only online on this forum August to December

  17. Re the graphs. Is it me or are they both the same? Didn't the estimable David do a vs. comparable matches graph last year which was more informative for me?

I did but I haven't had time to update it yet - I think that will be something for to work on this weekend!

    - 74 points deducted for financial regularities, should see us safe on 40 points .

As long as we finish above 3 other teams I'll be happy. If we finish 8th or above i'll be delighted. I think as usual Gino will be looking to get to 40 points then lets make sure we dont get the deckchairs out. It's been a great start but we have a run of games now in which we need to keep adding to the points tally.

    I'm presuming David is.......
    1) now working for the BBC as kVA says, or
    2) a Russian now expelled from the country, or
    3) on one heck of a bender, or
    4) looking for a lost computer, or
    5) a victim in Killing Eve, or
    6) unable to change the y-axis on the chart and too embarrassed to tell us

    David?

    Sorry guys!

I'm still alive, had a crazy time at work recently but now back on the Watford wagon

    The current position is:
    • 2 points worse than this time last year (13 vs 15). This is 3 worse than after the last game.
    • 5 points better than the '40 point' line (13 vs 8). This is 1 point worse than after the last game.

Amazing that in 3 and a bit seasons we haven't been below the 40 points line at all if you exclude the first 4 games.....so far !

Such a shame to back title form up with relegation form. That Bournemouth game has obliterated any fear clubs might have had coming to Vicarage Road. I'm sure Wolves will turn us over with ease but we must win two of the following three games. Ideally all three, because they are all atrocious football teams.

I'm not sure where the opinion that Wolves are 'atrocious' comes from?

And as good as we have been at home, I think it's a stretch to believe that any team in the PL would ever 'fear' coming to VR.

No, no, the "following Wolves" fixtures. I think Wolves will be duelling with Leicester for 7th
