You put the Great in Great Britain. Never has so much been owed by so few (my variation on the quote) the mornings I wake up and see the havoc you have caused before the GMT based mods get busy deleting it all later in the day. Frankly it should all be preserved, in The Safe if necessary, for all eternity.

 

My lawn was mostly moss. I've put down a miss killer and bought a lawn rake. I've raked a fair bit out but its still quite mossy.

I'm trying to kill moss and weeds and sow new grass alternately.

Not sure if the best tactic

Sometimes I wake up in the morning, have a vague recollection of some sort of scrap or other on here the previous evening and don't dare look until aroundabout lunchtime. Will it be really embarrassing or not worth a whole lot really? I'd put last night's revels in the latter category.

Should work well I would have thought.
Mine has a few odd bits growing in it that are not grass, especially little white daisies. I keep it short, and at least it looks ok until close inspection.

 

I have also bought a sharpener for my lawnmower blades, as I suspect that the dull edges were not good for the grass.

Does anyone have experience of using a scarifying machine? Worth it? Or shall I persist with the rake.

For your information I didn't say that to wind you up, I said it to try to keep what I think is a good idea for a thread back on track.

Anyway....

As in any conversation down the pub things will often go off at a tangent. Why does that bother you? Things may go off on a limb. Then they might come back. Hey-ho.

Nope. I'm not remotely in the 'getting wound-up' phase yet. And I know that wasn't your intention. But why can't you simply 'go with the flow' without inventing uneccessary rules and regulations?

 

How is seeding the lawn going? I have never had any success whatsoever with grass seed.

 

Early days. I'm using a combined seed and feed mix and watering well in after.

Will let you know. I have taken some before pics and if, over the summer, I'm successful at ridding it of weeds and moss, I will post some afters too.
