Is it just my feeling or have we ended up losing every time we get a player sent off, but have not managed to score after our opposition have been reduced to 10?
Hold on a minute, your question asks two things: 1. Have we lost every time we have gone down to 10 men? 2. Have we failed to scored a single time that the opposition have been reduced to 10 men? Moog answered, perfectly accurately, that we went down to 10 men against Brighton, and did not lose, so therefore no, you are incorrect, we have not lost every time we have had a player sent off. vic-rijrode then said 'but we didn't score', which is totally irrelevant, because Moog was not talking about an instance when the opponent had been reduced to 10 men, as the second part of your question referenced. Then you came in and took the piss out of Moog for 'not reading the question', despite the fact that he seems to be the only one involved who actually did read the question. Your question. Am I confused, or having a stroke, or something, here? Because I have read it quite a few times, and this really appears to have been the way it played out. Tell me I'm not insane.
The occasions in the past three seasons when that hasnt been the case.. 15-16. Swansea home- Behrami sent off. Won 1-0 Villa home- Cissokho sent off. Deeney scored twice afterwards. 16-17. Southampton away- Watson sent off. Drew 1-1 Burnley home- Hendrik sent off. Niang & Deeney scored afterwards. WBA home- Britos sent off. Won 2-0 17-18. Brighton home- Britos sent off. Drew 0-0. Though of course there's been a number of occasions when that has been the case.
The correct answer to the OP's post is. It's just your feeling as it hasn't happened everytime. @wfcmoog you did show your workings, but you didn't answer the question. @vic-rijrode simply made a statement @FromDiv4 is incorrect, wfcmoog did read the question, he just didn't answer it @jw- made a valid sarky comment @GoingDown is confused possibly because they thought the question was more nuanced that it actually was. @Chumlax used @wfcmoog's workings to try and answer the question but didn't quite get it himself, however he is not insane @BigRossLittleRoss does indeed have part of the solution @Stevohorn as usual knows all the facts or is indeed adept with google @Jumbolina is no prophet @Relegation Certs is wrong there's far worse @CaveManHornet no you really don't @Meister has too much time on his hands today
Excellent summary! You should do one for every thread PS a bit of both.. I know some basic facts but would be lost without a bit of research.
So my feeling was almost correct. This season we have had a player sent off in 4 games, lost 3 and yes drew 0-0 with Brighton. We have only had an opposition player sent off once, where we failed to score afterwards. I think my memory is still tainted by my trip to Hull earlier this year where they had a player sent off on 24mins and we contrived to lose 2-0.
Unless my memory is wrong I thought we only had three players sent off this season Britos V Brighton, Zugulathiny against Burnley and Cleverly V Palace, who is the 4th!
Holebas vs Bristol City League cup. On that occasion we conceded and scored and lost after going to 10 men.
Technically yes, but the net result of Deeney shaking hands with Allen's throat/phizog, was the same - a 3 match ban- admittedly it did not affect the Stoke game much if at all.
