Yeah you're right cus they are proper big clubs that "should" be in the top division!
Sheff Utd away. No date for it yet.
I absolutely would dispute Liverpool being awarded the title. Maybe controversial, but I’d be against them being given the title even if they mathematically win it but don’t complete 38 games.
They will do their best to get games played behind closed doors for as long as possible and thrn delay the season.
Guess the issue is the European Championships?
Presume teams won't be going on world wide Pre-season tours this summer !?
Not yet but 2 months to go in their and our season. By that time we will all know or know of someone who has it.
If the current season is voided, could Bury return? Effectively they won’t have been expelled...
Next you will be saying that VAR never happened
Surely the easy answer in the PL are the PL rules that all clubs sign up to? If the games are suspended for 60 days the season is null and void.
The problems come from the Football League, unless they have similar rules
I think stop it now, have playoffs for relegation and promotion. Would love to see Liverpool beaten 1-0 in "the final" by Man C and therefore not winning the league. Salah etc all head off in the summer and their chance has gone....
I had a cursory look at the PL handbook when you posted that earlier and couldn't find a reference to it in the competition rules. Where did you hear this?
We will see.
And maybe Deulofeu's knee problem goes away too and we get Javi Gracia back.
I saw it mentioned on another site and assumed it was a given. I’ll have a look and see if it’s wrong
We can check VAR for 100% confirmation on that.
Yes, we will.
Do you think we could reset as far back at 17th May 2019 ?
I’d rather not.
I'm sure we'd win if we had another chance. Either that or become sole record holders.
Take the betting odds.
Do a representational draw.
If Watford are four time more likely to survive than Norwich, then they have a 1/4 of the balls in the hat Norich do.
Pick the three relgated teams.
Pick the three promoted teams.
Have a play off between them.
That's just silly, you might as well just decide it all on the betting odds without bothering with the draw, given that the chances would be exactly the same.
Move the Euro's until next summer then continue the leagues when it is safe to do so. Obviously if this goes on for a very long time then that's a very different story. I don't see how you can promote/relegate sides without completing the season. I would cancel the European competitions now. There are no fans at a lot of these games now and football in my view is all about the fans (I know it's not but it used to be and I like to hark back to the good old days) so what's the point.
The problem will come when players get the virus and clubs can't field a team due to players in isolation. Up until then I'm sure TV money will dictate that games continue but with no fans. Only issue with that is that fans seem to be congregating outside the grounds in some cases.
It was a joke.
Not 10, but I am a very attractive 34 yr old male, with a wife and 2 sons, you interested?
We need a "Dating" or "Lonely hearts" thread.
Sadly you're probably right
I really do not understand why people go to a football ground when they have no chance of getting into the game. What do they do, stand outside watching on their phones? complete madness.
I see the BBC footy page currently has a clickable link on ladies footy entitled "Is it time for lionesses to "unleash" Nobbs". Interesting response to the virus.
I wonder if UEFA are regretting scheduling the Euros to be held in 12 (I think) different countries?
Should be put back a year right now to take the pressure off countries finishing their leagues
'Winky' emoji required!
With postponements already trickling in without widespread quarantines being implemented across most countries, I feel it's more likely than not that the Premier League season will end up being abandoned at this point.
I fully expect to see black humour submissions of "Coronavirus" for our POTS if that happens.
It could be extended into next season and an abbreviated 2020/21 season played. It's all up in the air but sport should take a secondary role in such times. The vulnerable is what we should be looking out for.
