I've heard from a semi reliable source (given the okay to post this) that we could be signing Prevljak from Eupen in the coming weeks. Fee wouldn't be a substantial amount and on what I presume would be a reasonable wage. Of course, after signing Fletcher I would question who would be on their way out. Surely a bid for someone must have come in given our large squad size atm.
Wouldn't mind this. Good stats. Jupiler has produced a few duds, but for a small fee he'd be a good signing. Good highlights video too. Intelligent runs, getting on the end of crosses and a good finish.
@LouOrns would be the best person to understand if it would be a good signing or not. I'm a fan, not a tactical genius.
A 26-year-old who has never played above the level of the Austrian Bundesliga, and spent the majority of his career at a lower level than that. Sounds promising.
You are not to post a suggestion or rumour on here without a full player report including family history, early years (including appearances and goals from ages 10-16), injury record and their favourite dinner. Otherwise a particular member of the forum will come along with a predictably insulting and/or condescending post.
On paper, it seems that he's better now than Ugbo, but maybe Ugbo has a better upside? **** knows how you'd compare him to Santos Borre, though he certainly has a good record in the second tier leagues of Europe, so I'd give him a chance. Not as if we can sign a cast iron guaranteed 10 goal PL striker!
He is Perica. Another loser in their mid 20's who's done basically nothing in their career except a few goals in the terrible Belgian league.
He’s a good finisher, nice movement and can play, also takes a high volume of shots. I’d welcome the risk, but If we’re buying a striker from Belgium then it has to be Yaremchuk
I mean, I don't know this guy, I'm about 90% sure you don't neither, and he's also got almost double the amount of goals Perica has from fewer games. Ideally I'd like someone younger, but give him a chance? Perica's lack of success has no bearing on this guy if he does come
If you're any good, you don't spend until you're 26 in the Austrian and Belgian leagues. He's also only managed a whopping 9 appearances and 1 goal for Bosnia. It's another hopeful punt on a player who clearly doesn't have Premier League pedigree and will almost certainly fail. Like almost every striker we've signed for the past God knows how many years now.
That's a bit of a rudimentary way to analyze a player. Players do have different trajectories. By the age of 26, Jamie Vardy had 11 career goals, 2 of which were in the EFL. Players can bloom late. No idea if this guy will though. Just to add another example Yaremchuk is 25, he has only played in Ukraine and Belgium and just got a goal and assist for Ukraine against the Netherlands at the Euro but by your logic he definitely wouldn't be up for it.
Well as LouOrns and LeedsOrn say, there are some who slip through the cracks, but anyway, anyone we sign will be a punt. If we sign a striker from a top 5 league, it'd be someone with a goal every 5/6 game kind of track record, and someone like Ugbo, who had a similar scoring record last season in Belgium would also be a punt as there's no guarantee he'd be anywhere near good enough. Out of interest, which strikers that could realistically come here would you be interested in?
Well, he's just had a banger of a game at the Euros, I think we can put any dreams of him coming to us to bed!
Wow Nath on a massive downer tonight. Cheer up chief, England won their first game in the euros for the first time ever and the Dutch game was quality. Life is looking up!
