Gone. Contract cancelled by mutual consent. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/official-prodl-departs
A great servant of the club during our time in the Premier League, shame he was riddled with injuries in the last couple of seasons as beforehand, he was no doubt better than some of the current center backs we still have in our match line-ups. The decision had to be made though as he has been a total waste of our wage budget with no signs of returning to the ability he had 2/3 years ago
All the best Seb, dominant in his first two seasons. Injuries have meant his body can’t cope with the demands of premier league football.
I think anyone who wins player of the season for us, especially in a broadly successful top flight season, deserves our absolute respect and best wishes. Not his fault he had his mouth stuffed with gold and renewed his contract when invited to.
Had one good season, well done. About bloody time we started clearing out the trash and rebuilding though. Holebas, Janmaat, Cleverley, Pereyra and Gray out at the end of the season please and rebuild from there.
Hasn’t played more than 20 games in a season since he’s been there. Plenty of other players out there that can be good professionals and run around a lot. Get rid, waste of space injury prone as hell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sad to see Seb go, but it was no surprise really. The trouble is now this leaves us short. So I expect we'll get the Gibson deal done or will recall Wilmott.
Losing Prodl does not change our depth. He is a non-contributing wage eater never available for selection.
Well going by the reaction here you'd think we'd let go the lynchpin of our defence.. https://mobile.twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1223320040541425664 Guess he might have been 3 years ago but hardly played since.
A nice guy, a good pro and when he stayed fit a great asset on the pitch too. I hope he manages to stay fit and play at his next club.
He was a good player when fit, though he was frequently caught out when judging the flight of the ball. I said on this forum when we signed him that he had a terrible injury record from his time in Germany. Unfortunately, his body couldn't cope with the Premier league. Contract extension was nuts. I wish him well.
If he proves his fitness he will sign with Udinese as thought earlier in the window. Maybe another club would be interested. I think in leagues that are less intensive than the EPL he may be able to play well for a few years yet. Good luck to him.
Not many of those games he’s not been a 7/10, yes injury prone but I’d keep him for another year see what NP can get from him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Prodl was happy at the club but didn't trust the managers.. Well he was injured a lot! https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...rodl-said-lack-trust-leaving-watford-udinese/
Wish him all the best but not too concerned about it. Was never really PL level quality IMO, but he probably would shine in the Champ.
Frankly, if there is a 50% chance of Prodl being fit, he'd have merited a squad place more than Peneranda, who I think is a total busted flush. (unless we let him leave on loan again, in which case I'll consider it madness).
