I consider myself to be a die hard fan. In fact I've been a fan of the club since it formed in 2015. And all that time I cannot remember a worse Watford side. We've been sleep walking towards oblivion for years and now finally we stare into the abyss.
    • We've signed skill-less mercenaries like Doucoure and Deulofeu while quashing our greatest English talent like Dennon Lewis and Brandon Mason.
    • We play a glorified TV pundit up front who hasn't score a goal in about 3 years.
    • Where is the passion?
It's time to bring back Marco Silva and go back to basics.

Unfortunately sounds like you just missed out on the glory days of Lloyd Dyer, Josh McEchran and Lucas Neill. I feel for you.

    Nowhere near.
I remember our 4th Division side before GT took over, this current side would wallop them.
Also the side that played in the second division for the first time in the club's history. 1969/70 if I remember correctly. Well out of their depth.
Worst side of all time? you're having a laugh. This is one of the best.
Amazing what a run of defeats does to some people.

Tough poll. I was torn between Yes and Very much so for ages (went with Very much so).

    It probably is.
I'd feel more secure with a back 5 of Rankin, Geidmintis, Garner, Horsfield, & Pritchett.

I think Watford is the worst thing of all of the things in the world. Worse than cruelty to animals, worse than man buns, worse than liquorice, worse than Christmas markets. Worse than anything I can think of.

I would rather go to a Christmas market in Luton with Piers Morgan than watch one second of a Watford game.

What about liquorice served by a small captive monkey to a customer with a man bun at a christmas market?

I think you're confusing that amazing (?) side with the Kirby-led lot in the 1971-2 season....and who can forget the shiver of anticipation when during the 1974-5 (relegation to Div 4) season the ball went towards (sorry...past) Pat Morrisey. Keen as mustard that lot.

Was a good side that got us promotion 68/69 but Where out of their depth in div. 2.
I agree with you about George Kirby. Can you imagine the meltdown on this forum if todays spoiled supporters where taken back to those days.
I am aware by the way that there was no forum in those days, well not online anyway but certainly in the local hostelries.

I think it's pretty obvious that this is the worst side we've ever had, and anyone who says otherwise is nothing short of delusional.

In fact, we probably have the worst team ever in the entire history of football, including all the proto-football teams from before the game was properly codified.

Now, that was a proper man's game.

Just out of interest, do you often feel like you're about to fall over backwards, but can't quite put your finger on why?

We'd have only been defiantly waving our flags at 2-0 rather than 5-0 with that defence at Wembley.

Well it's the worse team this season. ..

What is the lowest point people have seen us at ?

Only been in the bottom 2 divisions twice in 40 years .

Pretty good for little old Watford .

The Class of 50 came 23rd in Div 3 South.

Growing up on Furphy, I thought that team was brilliant. Promotion & a Cup Semi in a couple of years.

Yep, I went to White Hart Lane to see us play Chelsea, although we lost 5-1 my lasting memory was seeing Duncan get the better of Chopper Harris. Excellent players from that era. Scullion, Bond, Brian Owen and of course G-G-G Garbet, he's the greatest centre forward in the land.

I think worst is a tad harsh. Lowest desire and commitment aftet an FA Cup Semi Final win? Yes.

Its not a bad side. It needs the right formation and a better defensive unit who can track back and put their all into it.

Both can be acheived in reality. One can be tested and triedat Everton.

My first season ticket was Mike Keens last season as Watford manager. I think we finished tenth in the fourth division. Keith Mercer was our leading scorer. I loved that team, and the majority were to romp to promotion under God. In terms of worst ever, it must be the one we survived due to the goals of Scott Fitzgerald. I can't remember if it was 2003 or 2004. I know the following year was worse it was the year Boothroyd rallied a few wins to avoid relegation. But a team where the top scorer was an admin manager with Wickes must be the most dispiriting in living memory. Only the dignity and professionalism of Ray Lewington gave that season any form of redemption.

SFG went to Brentford where he teamed up with Scott Fitzgerald, the Wimbledon one.

Odd that neither are who you think of with that name.

I remember that. We had two games away. Rotherham and Stoke was it? Won them both and stayed up.Cant remember who we played final day.

I do remember tears falling ftom my eyes at Hillsbroigh. A 2-1 loss put us goal difference from the bottom three.
