    Can only be ‘off’ if it was ‘on’ in the first place. It’s that I’m not convinced about.

    The moment I read the story where it claimed Sarr had ‘told teammates his preference was a move to Watford’ - that swung the whole story into ‘utter b*llocks’ territory for me.

    We’re not signing anyone. Dawson was our big fish this summer and that’s it. We’re done.

    It will be the usual drivel following the window closing of Dux claiming that we had many irons in the fire but we just ran out of time after having over 2 months to make something happen. It will be proceeded by the normal statement of, we knew our targets and made a very good offer but another club offered more. We have a very good squad, with a head coach that is pushing the players forward. We have a huge belief in all the players at Watford FC and have no doubt it will be a successful campaign. We will only buy if the price is right and someone that can take the club to the next level. We want to be the best of the rest.

    There’s no away kit to ‘announce’. It just goes on sale tomorrow so unless he’s pulling a shift in the club shop, unveiling him tomorrow won’t have much commercial effect. And I doubt we will announce anyone who hasn’t had a medical yet...

    91 million net loss on transfers in our time in the Prem. Made 32 million profit last season and so far this pre season. Living within our means is vital to keep our club on a sound footing. Spending on more junk squad filler for the sake of it isn't. I reckon Sarr is a potential 50 million player. We will sign him with this in mind.

    No more Zeegelars. We want Sarrs.
