I'm in the same situation apart from the ASD bit. If, and it's a big if, we got to the final he would desperately want to go but I wouldn't want to risk not getting a ticket and would also like to sit with the guys I've been going to football with for the last 25 years. If it was done like the semi final I presume I would be able to buy mine and my sons ticket at the same time in the first day of sales?

I am sure (well hope) the club will look at the sales profile of the current system and see if it needs changing if we get to the final. Getting family tickets together when they are in mixed groups will be important to many people.

  3. Looks like the Cat 2 block 549, 551 and 552 have been release - £65 on the third tier is outrageous. Probably about 3k tickets left.

I'm definitely not going to worry about a club that named its ground after a food mixer.

If all blocks are now released it looks like around 4000 tickets left.

Someone whose mates can't get a ticket until tomorrow so is buying the end of a block that are likely to still be there tomorrow?

Not sure that fits the sales arrangements but who knows?

    Getting to the final isn’t a ‘big if’, it’s a 50/50 if.

Sounds like a weekend to potentially relish. :D

Why would Cat C people want to watch man city v wolves?

(has this gag been done yet?)

Because it's only rarely you get to see footy on such a large and wide pitch that favours footballing teams like the Wolfs.

The tickets sales have been a right fiasco!

Everything should have been available from the start, opening up random blocks a few at a time and not even in a chronological order is a crazy way of doing things, and has not really given us fans a real choice of where we would like to sit.

I wish the club would go back to organising ticket sales themselves Ticket-master is a disaster IMO.

It would be really interesting to know what the experience of the Wolves, Man City and Brighton fans has been but – like with our site – you need a login to be able to look at the stadium plan.

Releasing blocks at different times may not be WFC or Ticketmaster's choice. It could be that because of the configuration of the stadium, they want to open up sections and fill them so that in the event of falling short of a sell out there are empty blocks/sections. This could be for all sorts of reasons – whether to open sections of the concourse, how many stewards to hire, whether to open food and drink stands. I don't know, but it seems a logical, if unsatisfactory, way to do it.

I'd be a bit miffed if I'd bought in the upper tier behind the goal three days ago only to find that the upper tier on the halfway line is now available.

Someone of a nervous disposition who wants to hide behind their seat? :)

Or more likely a phone sale where some telesales **** booked the seat without the buyer realising exactly where it was.

It looks like we've sold tickets in every block now - though 550/551 seem to have very few people in them. By a very (very) rough count though I think we've sold around 29,000.

Wolves fans on their forum seem to be living in hope we'll send tickets back and hand blocks over to them for sale. Doesn't look possible now, yet I can't imagine there are many more people going to come out of the woodwork to buy in our end.

I think any casual fan who might have been tempted to come along would have been put off attempting to get a ticket by the shambolic sales process. Good

The fact that we've sold seats in every block means there is no chance of Wolves getting any unsold tickets now. Block 501 is a bit odd with only around 5 seats in each row. Don't know how many we sold last time but it does feel as though we are selling more this time although I can't imagine there are many people still looking to buy now. 29000 is a decent turn out though

It's a bit strange, as I don't think there are many clubs that wouldn't sell their allocation for an FA Cup semi final.

Ok, we all know we're not a big city side, and big city sides have many casual fans they can call on for this type of match. Even a small club like Torquay, Rochdale or Luton could probably sell their allocation as a match like this would be once in a lifetime for supporters of these clubs.

We fall into a strange category. We are a small town club, yet the novelty of an FA Cup semi final isn't all that great, as we've had several in recent memory.

If we got to the final and were playing Brighton, with a great chance of winning the whole thing, then I think we'd easily sell 33,000 tickets.

Plus there's a bad association with Wembley. We tend to choke and under perform at this venue. We've played there 6 times in our history and lost 5 of them. Only success was beating Bolton in the play off final. Wembley represents heartbreak for many, and that can be off-putting.

We only get 28000 if we get to the final so shouldn't be an issue. I've been to see Torquay at Wembley and they didn't get close to selling 33000, probably less than half that. I did think though that having had a number of years in the Premier League we would have gained some extra support and would sell out. What I find stranger is that we have 44000 people in category C (home) alone so quite a lot of these people are not buying tickets

I remember the 98 playoff final and we sold 37,000. I think people are more used to success, and don’t see a semi as such a big deal.

Yes, I think it's mainly down to the occasion not being that unusual. We sold out (34,000+) for the Palace play-off final in 2013, which was our first Wembley outing in 14 years. Then we didn't sell out in 2016. This'll be the 3rd in 6 years and the excitement just isn't as high as it clearly is for Wolves fans (and probably Brighton too). Though I agree FA Cup Final tickets would fly out the door even at 1 per ST holder.

I think that's where the upper tier segregation kicks in with netting etc.

It doesn't look like we will sell out does it. Very strange that our support base seems to be diminishing. I can only think that its down to continued negative media, and competition from Londons big clubs. Both West Ham and Spurs now have huge capacities at their new stadiums.
The casual football fan in the Herts/N London area are choosing to attend these shiny new stadiums instead of us. The match day experience is so much more of an occasion at these Stadiums.
I think Watford seriously have to look at our ground and realise that massive improvements are needed asap to tempt the casual group of fans back to VR. Also to all those WFC fans that think small, thats what you become.

Think we will sell a few more yet. My son has been trying to borrow fan ids from others and has finally got 4 so will be buying later today. He started going as a 3 year old and had a season ticket from age of 5, until moving to Cheltenham 3 years ago, so not exactly a new fan! If there are still a few thousand left presumably the club will make more available to those who have already bought. Some Wolves fans seem to think we will be giving them thousands.
