Apologies, I just checked back and didn't realize there were a bunch of replies already since I last checked here on Friday... Here's a full disclosure of my situation/background:

I'm an avid football fan from the U.S. (Growing up, I supported Ajax and DC United (MLS)). In 2006, a friend from Wales at my college (university) turned me onto his hometown club, Swansea City... It was their last season under Kenny Jackett/first under Roberto Martinez, and their penultimate season in League One. (I was very impressed with their commitment to playing a passing style of football, while pretty much the rest of League One was playing more direct at the time.) After the following season, they earned promotion to the Championship, and I was able to watch some of their televised matches (streaming on the internet), as well as the Championship highlights show for the whole league each weekend. During those three seasons, I also developed a bit of fondness for Watford, so when Swansea earned promotion to the PL after the 2010- '11 season, I wanted an excuse to keep watching/following the Championship too, and following/supporting Watford (in addition to Swansea in the PL) allowed me to do that (i.e. watch/follow both leagues closely). (And it also assuaged some of my guilt from the Swans prying away Danny Graham after his terrific last season with the Hornets...) Anyway, jumping ahead, I'm still a Swansea supporter, but now that they have swapped fates, so to speak, I've watched all of Watford's matches this season, so that I still have a rooting interest in the PL (and can feel less depressed/gloomy about the Swans' current financial situation (and unknown future)... I've been been very encouraged though, by the Hornet's campaign this season, and I'm really hoping they win the FA Cup (after Swansea got shafted by the FA not using VAR in the Man City quarterfinal...), or else finish in the top 7 --so that they'll (likely) still earn a Europa League berth for next season (and I'd then be able to watch their Europa League matches too next season).

I've never been to the UK before, but I've been wanting to make a special "ground-hopping" trip for years. And finally I have an opportunity to do that in a few weeks (April 5-16th). I specifically picked a time when Swansea has three matches in a week, and when Watford had a match moved to Monday for television. The fact that Watford's FA Cup match got scheduled for a Sunday made it even better, as I could attend a Saturday Swansea-'Boro match and a Watford FA Cup SF the first weekend of April, and then a QPR-Swansea match on a Saturday and Watford-Arsenal on a Monday the second weekend. (I was also hoping a National League match, like Barnet-Wrexham, or a Championship/League One/Two match might get moved to that Sunday, so I could attend a lower league match around London too, but it doesn't look like that will happen.)

...Or so I had thought... --I guess I was very naive, as I had no idea finding PL/FA Cup tickets would be so difficult....

I did register for a Watford 6-digit Fan ID last week, but I discovered a couple of days later that that was still too late, as the club would only be making FA Cup tickets available to Fan IDs obtained before March 15th...

So if anyone has the ability to purchase an extra ticket for the FA Cup match and/or the Arsenal match, I would definitely like to attend (hopefully both, if at all possible) and will happily buy you beers/food in addition to reimbursing you for the ticket price plus any fees. (If you would be purchasing ticket(s) this week, I could certainly reimburse you upfront via Paypal or Venmo.)

I completely understand if you don't want to acquire an extra ticket for only a "casual" Hornets supporter, so I wanted to be completely honest about my level of Watford fandom in this post. (I don't want to misrepresent myself or take advantage of Watford supporters.) I can promise you, though, that if I'm standing/sitting next to you (or anywhere inside Wembley or Vicarage Road), I will definitely be wearing my Watford jersey and cheering for the Hornets --definitely not Arsenal (I could never bring myself to support one of the Big 6 clubs...) or Wolves (normally I could appreciate what they've done/how they've played these past two seasons, but I really don't like the relationship between Jorge Mendes and the ownership/Nuno --I think it's bad for the sport/competition to have conflicts of interest like that...).

Anyway, I'm going to attend the Swans-Boro match on Saturday, April 6th, and then if there is any chance one of you would be willing to help me buy a ticket for the FA Cup match, I will take trains the next morning from Wales to Wembley and happily buy you beer/food in addition to reimbursing you for the ticket. I'll head back to Swansea afterward (to attend their Tuesday night match v. Stoke), but then I'll head back to London from Wednesday evening (April 10th)--to hopefully attend a Millwall-QPR or Brentford-Ipswich match--through Tuesday, April 16th. So I'm really hoping I can somehow purchase a ticket for the Watford-Arsenal match that Monday night.

Thanks for your replies/information and any help any of you might be able to provide with purchasing a ticket for either/both of those matches.

Thank you very much for that offer. If you are willing/able to buy an extra FA Cup ticket for me tomorrow, I'd greatly appreciate it. (I can send you my Fan ID if you need it, and also send you Paypal or Venmo to reimburse you.)

(And I did try reaching out to the club last week, but they said it was too late, and that I would have needed to obtain my Fan ID before March 15th and that there won't be a "general sale". They also said there definitely won't be a general sale for the Arsenal match.)

Just found out I can only get one ticket on my ID, I thought I could get two, therefore I'm not going to be able to help you David.

    Can anyone else help David?

If anyone knows any Watford supporters who won't be purchasing a ticket to either the FA Cup semifinal and/or the Arsenal match, if they'd be willing to purchase me a ticket(s), I'll reimburse them immediately with Paypal/Venmo plus a little extra for their troubles/efforts/time. Thanks!

  8. Hello David

I can probably help. If you haven't been on here long, you probably won't have personal message privileges, but if you give me an email we can chat.

Thanks a lot, for your response/offer to help. Another Watford supporter actually offered to help me last night/today, so I think I am probably all set at this point. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the Hornets at Wembley and the Vic!

I took a look at the Arsenal game yesterday to see what was left ticket wise. It was all front row stuff in the Lower GT stand. You really don't want to view from there. Hopefully someone can sort you out a better ticket.

He's sorted for a Semi final ticket.. amazing what you can organise from your sofa in Norway ;)

I also had a look at Arsenal tickets for him. There is one restricted view seat at the front of the Rookery which doesnt look too bad to me.. neither do the front rows seats in the GT that are up near the Rookery. Also if it was me i'd just find one of the inevitable unused seats and ask the people there if it's ok to sit there. He's waiting to hear from a "friend of a friend" who might be able to help with a better ticket anyway.

They may not bother. Lots of places say it but then don't enforce it.

Right can anyone makes sense of this..
Ticketmasters list of venues that accept letters of authorisation. Under Wembley it says " (Customers MUST bring photo I.D. and full details. For the NFL games customers must take the confirmation email that is sent to the cardholder) " Does that mean tickets can only be collected in person? Or that's it's different rules for NFL games but you CAN collect with a COA?

Thank you to everyone on this forum who helped me out the past several days, especially Steve. (I wasn't optimistic at first, but my friend's friend was able to come through with a ticket for me after all for Watford-Arsenal (front-row, so hopefully not too restricted view... but I'm happy to just sit/stand (hopefully stand) anywhere in the stadium). And Steve went through a lot of logistical hoops to get me sorted for the Wolves FA Cup match. So I greatly appreciate that (and am sorry you likely won't be making the trip back for the match --but hopefully [touch wood] you'll have a chance to come back for a Wembley final).

I'm really glad that I picked the Hornets as my "second team" several years ago (and now my only PL team... ;) You all seem like a terrific community, and I really look forward to meeting as many Watford supporters as I can at/before/after the two matches I attend.

Only just popped into this thread after a while. David, glad you are sorted. I had the pleasure of meeting a Scottish football fan for the Liverpool game last season after he reached out for help on this forum. 100% genuine he was, no scouse accent, he even unpacked a deep fried mars bar for his half time snack.

For the Arsenal game I assume your front row ticket is in the Lower GT stand. Once you are in the ground go to the end of that stand on your right (facing the pitch) towards the home end. Go up the last gangway stairs and you can get in the home end via the concourse in the corner (it will make sense when you are there). Do this say ten minutes into the game and you'll spot an empty seat to take up, there are always a few around.

Stevo - I presume you have a big network of ST holding friends over here to help get your tickets sorted when back in all blighty. But given what you do for other folk just shout if you ever get stuck for a ticket, I would be one amongst many who would willingly try and help.

Like you Steve it is always a pleasure to go the extra mile, I am currently selling 1500 WFC programmes, someone asked me for a pacific programme which he was pictured in, I managed (after a bit of searching) to find it he was delighted and I'm £1 richer haha!

While not exactly a big network, i know enough season ticket holders to always find a ticket. Well up til now ive never missed out anyway.

Thanks for the offer though.. and if i ever do get stuck...

Now why didnt i think of that!

I just emailed the club to see if they could send the ticket to my brother, who is going. The reply i got was that tickets booked against an overseas address will be sent as an e-ticket. Then i just forward it.

    Anybody able to help out?

Got my Fan ID - only able to purchase one ticket for the match. I do not have another Fan ID to purchase another ticket on.

My friend (who I am best man to) would like to come along as he would enjoy a day out at Wembley and likes both teams - supports Middlesbrough and doesn't have a Fan ID.

I have rang the ticket office for Wembley and they don't have any way around this and only those with Fan ID's can purchase tickets and have asked me to wait for general sale.

I rang the Watford ticket office and asked when the tickets will go on general sale, I was informed they will not be going on general sale.

If anybody is able to assist with a Fan ID or something, please do let me know!

Thanks for that tip! That's indeed the section my ticket is in, so I'll definitely give it a try to get into the home end after 10/15 minutes (or else at half-time).

Have tried. Even though the club have said the ticket office is open today you get a message saying it's only open Monday to Friday. They do then give you a number for ticketmaster but because of the talk on here of the cost to do so i was holding back on that. Guess i will have to though.

My ticket experience latest- Feel like a wfc-ticketmaster ping pong ball! Have spent the last 24 hrs trying to contact both the club and Ticketmaster(sic) as to why my ticket, which is for David, wasnt sent as an e-ticket as the club had told me it would. Sent endless messages and spoke to people on the phone and the feedback i got was that it was down to the other party. The best one was when i rang Ticketmaster and the bloke told me he could sell me another ticket but for all other inquiries i had to contact Watford Football Club (who had given me his number) To add insult to injury he finished off by saying "Thank you for ringing Watford Football Club ticket sales" You couldnt make it up!

Anyway ive given up now for my own sanity but had to send David off to Wembley with a letter of authorisation to collect the ticket. Im not 100% convinced this is going to work, especially after what ive been through. Now i'm going to spend the rest of the day worrying whether he's gonna be able to collect the ticket rather than looking forward to the game.
As with the problems people had getting tickets in the first place, WFC really need to sort out this arrangement with Ticketmaster. It's a shambles and reflects badly on the club. We pay good money for tickets and the service we get in return isnt good enough.

PS If there's anyone who has a spare ticket (Club Wembley comp maybe?) and is prepared to do some last ditch arrangement to make sure David gets to see the game please get in touch. Hopefully he will collect the ticket no problem but it would be nice to have a plan B.
