This is far more credible than all these happy clappers pretending to have gone or listened. Did you also notice that Quina's goal was yards offside ? No idea why the ref didn't spot that, I guess just the usual pro-watford bias.

    I saw that.

I was in the top corner behind the goal and didn't notice him stretching and wincing during the game. Too far away and too blind I guess ………..

Yep, my wife does ours, not pants tho - that’s unnecessary.
I’ll get my coat (she doesn’t iron that either).

The financial gulf is too big.

Though Reading don't help themselves by appointing Clement. He has failed at all his clubs.

He went down fairly late in the 2nd half - that might have been the cramp.

Ian Holloway impressed on the Quest highlights - and says we have a good transfer policy !

One big problem with those potential comments is that he actually spent slightly longer in Chelsea's academy before moving to West Ham, than he did in West Ham's before moving to us.

I went last night and I think the two most important things to note were firstly Quina's overall performance, and secondly Wilmot's role.

In terms of Quina, his goal was obviously sublime and surely the goal of the round, even above the two Leicester efforts from Fuchs and Rhezzal, but what was just as relevant was his overall contribution. Never looked like a teenager playing against adults and moved and kept the ball well, throwing in a few functional tricks in the process, which is much better than incredibly frustrating non-functional tricks for the sake of it, that invariably lose the ball in the process.

In terms of Wilmot, he was named in midfield but spent the majority of his time playing as a defender; seemingly often dropping to be one of the furthest back. It seemed like a sort of Busquets-like approach, operating as a third centre back who can bring the ball out when it's retrieved. He was very impressive in general, and also did not look out of place physically at all.

After the ridiculous situation that saw it almost impossible to follow the match in any way other than being there or digging out your old radio - the EFL have now blocked the highlights of the game posted on Watford's own YouTube channel (press play!)

Talk about ******* on their own bonfire. For years now, they've struggled to raise interest in the competition (for the early rounds, at least) - so their plan to address this included excluding as many fans from following live as possible, followed up by denying another large portion of the fan base (those that aren't as familiar with the Internet's many unofficial places to watch) the chance to watch the highlights afterwards. Bizarre:confused:.

I wonder if the match highlights on the official site will also be removed??

Reading are in the broadcast rights club. Watford opted out of it a couple of years ago. That's the source of the problem.

I thought he looked very slight for a CB in pre-season, but it's reassuring if your comment is true. Maybe he put in a lot of fitness and gym work at the end of pre-season.

First thing my brother said to me as the game began was about how Wilmot must have been putting in serious time in the gym, which was in line with the kind of comment that popped up in my mind's eye whilst observing the same thing. Not sure I'd want him wrestling Lukaku, but it looked last night like something that the club's sports scientists are cognisant of.

They're still up on the official site at the moment: https://www.watfordfc.com/matches/highlights/highlights-reading-0-2-watford

Does opting out of the broadcast rights club mean this will also be removed?? I don't really understand how it all works, only that it seems to make zero sense if the club are allowed to post footage on their own website but not on their official YouTube channel?!!

Quite shocked to read some negative comments about Navarro, personally I thought he was excellent. Technically very sound, strong, good in the air, bombs forward and reads the game very well. I think it'll only be a matter of time before he's our first choice right back. I think Javi prefers Kiko on the wing than at right-back, which I agree with.

As most of the comments above, I thought the best two players on the pitch were Wilmot and Quina. Wilmot reads the game, marshals the defence well, is clearly a leader even at his young age and looks very comfortable in possession.

Quina is just sensational. Two great feet, brilliant passing range, always shows for the ball, takes players on, he's skilful and he certainly puts his foot in as well. The thing that impressed me the most was his energy and confidence. He could be a real top player in a couple of years if he continues to develop and I think he's put himself right in the mix to get into the first team last night. Nice to know if we have an injury crisis in the middle again that this kid could step in effortlessly.

All in all I was very impressed with the whole side and how well they gelled in the second half considering they'd never all played together before. A comfortable win in what was a genuine banana skin for us.
