Didn't Rinaldi score at Blackburn in the 06/07 season? Anyway encouraging to see Richarlison and Gray link up well.
That clip is a perfect summary of the game. - Richarlison too good for Bournemouth - Arter taking out a player with a reckless challenge that's about 5 seconds too late - Proceeds to cry to the referee
Absolutely brilliant, the most talented winger we have had since john Barnes Pace, power, tricks, he has the lot One day we will sell him for >£100 million
I reckon he can only get better as there is no way he is settled in this country after just three weeks. I also think he will only be with us for one season if he carrys on like this.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't speak English at the moment so his team-play will improve over time. Imagine! There will be a dip in form after a few weeks though as the initial adrenalin rush of being in a new country, new league etc. wears off and the drudgery, possible loneliness, of being so far from home for the first time kicks in. WFC need to look after him well and the supporters not expect great things every game.
Don't forget he has Gomes a fellow Brazilian to look after him and Silva who is Portugese, so he has at least two people at the club he can converse with, and I would imagine there are others amongst our multi national player pool who can also speak Portugese.
Silva just tells him to make the run and be ready. Then tells everybody else 'give the ball to Richarlison' Richie scores, crowd cheer, team plays better, crowd cheers more, team play better still and the Vic is rocking!
Surely the Spanish speaking players such as Pereyra, Britos and Zarate should be able to speak to him to some extent?
Early days but he oozes quality. He doesn't hide from the ball and his direct running caused no end of issues for Smith. He is very quick and looks to be linking up well with Gray.
Almost certainly. I await to hear him speak English. If he learns from Troy he'll be a quasi Brummie, similar to Jan Molby's Scouse/Danish mixture!
As long as he doesn't learn from some of today's younger generation in the high street. Though would be different to see him in interviews - "Richarlison, you scored a brace today, how pleased were you with your performance?" "Yea Blud, it woz bare sick out there fam"
Yes, when you speak Portuguese you can understand spanish speakers after some few days. Spanish sounds more like a wrong way to speak Portuguese than really a foreigner idiom.
One thing struck me after seeing his goal several times, namely he didn't just randomly stick a leg out and flop all over the place (oo-er!) His eyes barely - if ever - left sight of the ball and his body strength and balance meant he was able to react to where the ball was before poking it home. Excellent awareness. So often a player will lunge at the ball and be rolling about arms stretched as the defence had cleared. He'd then stay prostrate in the hope a teammate will come help him up, console the lack of luck he'd had and then look astounded a penalty hadn't been awarded in his teams favour because surely the oppo's #3 had brushed against his Nivea softened skin. This boy Richarlison? Yeah, I think I may enjoy his time here at little ol' WFC.
Was an instinctive reaction - good sign of a decent goal poacher. (Bet Lineker and Wright were impressed even if they didn't mention it)
This is totally childish but I don't care. This will really tick me off if true. We had to wait a week for Richarlison to get a WP (international clearance). Houghton seems to think his Colombian will be able to play Tuesday even though the deal was just completed today.
I know everyone hates other people's chant suggestions but just to get the ball rolling: To 'Charlie don't surf' by The Clash: Richarlison's from Brazil, he's so good; Richarlison looked and he said that 'I choose Watford'; Richarlison rips you apart down the wing; Richarlison's gonna make the Watford sing... etc
A work permit is totally different to international clearance. And Brighton's bid for him was accepted on 10 August so it's taken them over a week to get it all wrapped up.
