The only fit centre-back we have is Mariappa. Either we're going to have a back three which includes two players who are inclined to bomb forward, or we're going to play one of the kids. Or Zuniga. Actually, it's probably going to be Zuniga.
It's an away game. They'll probably wear something that doesn't clash with our kit, all-black or all-white for instance.
Despite everything I hope we give Mazzarri some respect and don't resort to booing when he gives his last cheery wave as he descends down the tunnel. He did keep us up and he did buy 1000 poor souls a beer. Booing is beneath us and we move on. Can't see him bringing his family on for a lap of honour but may I suggest a polite wrist tap as he disappears into the golden sunset.
As for the game, it could be a newly motivated team playing for the new coach watching from the wings trying to do our neighbours over the hedge a favour and we surprise City. 2-1 OR Same old dirge, on the beach thinking and City rip our patchwork defence to shreds in a show of Champions League potential masterclass attacking football. 0-3 After the Chelski performance conundrum, my prediction: 1-1 COYH we're on the telly, show some passion and pride and don't worry about what Wally thinks or says - you still won't understand him anyway.
So its Walter farewell game - wonder what reception he and the players will get? Not many options in defence it seems but Britos back in training so no doubt will be rushed back. Two up front - or just one or as at Chelsea somebody playing out of position!?
I wonder if he's going to select a strong side, or put out a side to get thrashed for a dramatic farewell.
Janmat and Mariappa in the middle of a four man defence, with Holebas and zuniga at fullbacks. Five in middlefield and Niang upfront, replaced by Okkaka after 70 minutes. Deeney not in the matchday squad.
Mariappa doubtful ... Deeney a 'hip problem'? ... Britos still doubtful ... it's going to be interesting to see just who does play and how ...
http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co....nst-man-city/story-30343035-detail/story.html Deeney is a doubt. He forgot it's on Sunday and has a 2pm Tee-off, which clashes.
Whatever happens about the result, I think it will be an extremely odd atmosphere. Think plenty of pre-match alcohol will be needed.
According to Sky we can still go down. Maybe they know about the points deduction we've all been waiting for Scroll down to the Watford vs Man City section http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ague-club-earn-on-the-final-day-of-the-season
As long as everyone celebrates Holebas getting his record breaking booking like a goal, then the season will have been a success in my book.
I know you're joking However on a serious note, 2 goals in 7 games in the Chinese league, in which his team have lost 5, drawn 1, and won 1. Well played Pozzo's for getting £20mil for him.
Its my birthday on the day so I may go I may not. As long as we give it a go and don't play like anything before Chelsea I'll be happy. Draw would be a decent result. Farewell Maz. Good luck to you.
Noticed we are 10 to 1 to win this. I don't gamble but are odds like this common for a home team in this league?
Er - yes - very common odds - when the home side has no recognised central defenders, a manager/coach who wishes he wasn't there, no sense of urgency, no strategic game plan other than hoof to a lonely forward, no plan B, no uninjured or consistent playmakers, no momentum except for 5 losses, no winning mentality, a substitution plan of bringing on attackers with 10 minutes to play, and a holiday atmosphere last game end of season with nothing to play for - - when playing a star studded motivated top team who need at least a point to guarantee a champions league place with big fat bonuses and everything to play for. - with that scenario, very common
We've got 6 CB's & they could all be out. It's incredible really. That witch-doctor that put an injury curse on us is now being being very specific..
