The state of this thread. Some of the comments earlier are just hilarious when read back now....ye of little faith. You know who you are! Well done Gino, excellent signing and the fee seems to be around about an initial £30m. Great window.
Always wish I’d been a supporter in the Elton John & GT days late 70’s early 80’s. But I’m guessing this is the next best. Absolutely love our owners! I’d be more disappointed seeing them leave than any manager or player.
Well done Gino & Scott =) Very exciting stuff. Our 6 main attacking threats: Sarr Wellbeck Deulofeu Deeney Pereyra Gray Thanks guys, that is some combination!!
One addition that has gone slightly overlooked - we might finally get some penalties now. He's won 9 penalties since 2016 which should hopefully nab us a few extra goals in itself, especially with VAR.
It all came good in the end, but wasn't everyone sick of all the coat trailing, eyelid fluttering and general "will he / won't he" b******s that went on for practically the whole transfer window?
The forum knicker wetters have gone through the whole years supply of ladies underwear which will hopefully mean they ll chill out a bit for the rest of the season.
Remember the European transfer window does not close until 02 September - half of those could be off to Spain or Italy for a profit. I doubt both Pereya and Deulofeu will start every game in August.
Can’t believe we’ve broken our transfer record with some bloke I’d never heard of prior to reading this thread. Nobody we’ve broken our transfer record signing has turned out any good. If we’re going to sign a winger that I’ve never heard of we should have gone for that bloke from Derby that people were posting about.
He looks quite good - a modern day Scully. I like his wall-of-death routine. Slightly more accurate shooting perhaps....
I don't want to be a purveyor of doom or anything, but in keeping with the theme of some to try and put a downer on everything, what long term/career ending injury do we think Sarr is going to get and when?
I'm pleased we've finally got a proper right winger on board. However, the consensus on the Pozzos supposedly being shrewd negotiators and dealmakers surely has to be under question now given that we paid £10mil more for Sarr than we received for Lukebakio, when all things considered they're very similar players at very similar stages in their development.
