It depends how desperate we are. We could be easy pickings right now. £10m would go a long way for Gino I suspect, but if we really did pay £2m in getting Chak, then maybe we're good to last out this season at least. Although, Gino selling and we couldn't get a replacement wouldn't cross his mind as an issue I'm sure.

I think Watford would sell Asprilla for anything over £10m though. I'd be surprised if anyone came in with a higher offer than that. He's very hit and miss with zero composure in front of goal (Norwich finish not included :D ). With him it's all about potential, but I'm not seeing signs he's rapidly improving, as Pedro was for example.

We'd be foolish to sell for £10m imo and I think (/hope) GP knows as much as we could easily get more for him in the summer, there were rumours that apparently we turned down bids from Sporting + Everton at the end of the window for him, both of which would've likely offered more than what Galatasaray could - which (if true) backs that up that we're not after a quick and easy sale.

I definitely agree he's still inconsistent in front of goal, but a majority of his stats are vastly improved to last season and there's more end product (1 goal + 1 assist last season to 4 goals + 3 assists this season) to boot. I think we've limited his effectiveness a bit by playing him on the left, when he's definitely better either centrally or on the right, but that's on VI rather than the fault of Asprilla!

The story is gaining traction, being reported on multiple platforms now. Probably the same story just being picked up by agencies. I agree, now is not the time to sell him, but we all know how bad our finances are. The right thing to do is wait until the summer, but Gino will do what he wants to do and I certainly wouldn't trust him to do the right thing for the team.

£10m would be a laughable fee for a player of his potential and moving to Turkey would be a tragic career choice for him.

I love a long-range screamer, and that was just that yesterday. Sure, he had time to set himself, but it was a long way out.

Right in the top corner. Shame it means **** all apart from a few more quid on his sale price, hopefully.

    It's beaten Hoedt's long-ranger for me.

Do you think it's goal of the season so far? I sure do!

He went for a closer range screamer today, but keeper was rooted.

Yaser, can you keep the onion bag rocking on its standings please?

Fans were falling over in the stands too. They're the goals we like to see.

Question. I get that in goal excitement the odd time a fan will fall into the row in front in jubilation and that’s great, but what is this new trend of multiple fans falling over on purpose? Bit fake no? The can’t be more excited than 10 years ago.

I completely agree that the falling over thing is a little cringe.

The Rotherham away end though… you have to be there to believe it. You get no leg room, and the incline is a complete antithesis to the idea of health and safety. You can genuinely fall forward 3-5 rows simply getting up to go for a waz at half time, so I can get why people were falling over after witnessing Asprilla’s wonder goal.

Come to think of it, it’s a disgrace that our fans weren’t falling onto the pitch itself out of pure delirium.

We're not selling for 10. But I can see us underpricing him at 15m + 8m in add-ons.

The incline is steep but it makes for a good view. For a modern stadium it’s a good one.

We’ll be absolutely desperate for cash next season, so it will be around £15m and undisclosed, but the deal will be described as ‘a record fee for a 20 year old Colombian whose name begins with A’.

There are a few comments on previous pages though suggesting some don't rate him that highly.

But the quality is there and the potential to really improve too - like Pedro has.

Asprilla’s season is resembling Joao Pedro’s first championship season in terms of his contribution and adding goals. I think Joao got 9 goals that season . So he’s on the right path.

Would be good to hold on to him a bit longer and push his value up further, as I’d expect him to be more influential next season if by some chance he was to stay with us .

Asprilla has 6 goals and 4 assists this season in the league so far (plus an assist in the FA Cup), JP got 9 goals and 3 assists, although I hope Asprilla doesn't go the same way as JP that season as he registered no goals and just a single assist after February 24th! No way we get peak value for him now, but with our parachute payments expiring this season, we need the money and he's one of our few saleable assets along with Koné, Louza and Andrews (the latter of whom might not be deemed ready for the big boys to take a punt on)

Don't think it'll do anything for his career. He's been called up to the Colombia senior squad a couple of times and scored a cracking goal for them. He's not going to want to be arsing about in and out of the side in an even lower mid table Championship team next season.

Andrews I could see on a sale and loan back, Asprilla no chance.

Fitness permitting, Andrews has been pretty much undisputed first choice for us this season, Asprilla, even though he's been our most productive player in the final third, has started less than half of our league games, if we do manage to keep him I'm sure he'll knuckle down, but if we do sell him, there are far better loan destinations for him than us

Considering JP played as a striker most of the time, and started more often, and was playing in a better team, Asprilla's haul so far is particularly impressive.

Say what you like about Asprilla, he is probably more suited to the number 10 role which isn't in our system at the moment, but he's got a goal or assist every 165 minutes this season

I know two people that STILL don't rate him, with their main argument being that he's too lightweight. Who gives a f*ck how skinny he is when he's got that much technical ability!

With Chelsea pinching another of Brighton's scouting team, expect a £50 million bid in the summer.

Against one of the best teams in the division to be fair to him, but he was anonymous for most of that, a few moments in the first half, including a brilliant pass for Dennis in the build-up to the Bayo goal, but wasteful in the few moments he had on the ball in the second

Wish he’d have got up and focused on contributing to the still developing attack given we still had the ball though. Really don’t like the dying swan act. There’s no VAR, the ref’s not going to change his mind either.

I'm convinced that for all the ability he has, he is as thick as mince hence why his decision making is regularly so bad.

Was he waving to the fans as he left the pitch, or just hailing a taxi to take him to the airport?
