Bidding war between two Chinese pigeon fanciers. The winner purchased the bird ‘New Kim’ for £1.4m in what can only be described as a bit of a coup.

I was shocked to learn that Belgium is regarded as the ‘traditional heartland’ of the sport. You’ll be telling me pizza isn’t British next.

Maybe you have seen things that also lead you to conclude that the World has gone mad?

1.4m for New Kim sounds like better value than 18m for Andre Gray

Good in the air, but don’t be getting ideas. £1.4m too steep for WFC these days.

    There's a thought!
I have about thirty that lurk on the roof and monopolise the feeders if they can.
I'll get some training cones out for them.

If they always make it back to your roof, then they can pretty much do all that this pricey pidge can.

Getting hold of a quality pigeon is no easy task

There was a dead pigeon by my back door last week. Looked in decent condition not mauled so I think it just gave up.

Shovel and binbag in hand I was supprised to find out that I needed to walk half a mile to the nearest public waste bin. I don't have a dustbin, bin men don't empty them and I wasn't leaving the carcass inside my house for a week or outside to get ripped apart by a fox.

Now I find out I could have sold it off and made a wedge.

I spent part of my furlough plugging the bastards in the garden with the airgun.

I got 19 of them! I just chucked the carcasses over the hedge and left them for the red kites. They were gone by the following morning.

Supposing it gets killed by a falcon. The world has indeed gone mad. Usually from the actions of people with more money than sense. They know the price of everything and the value of very little. The sort that hoard art in private collections and buy Koon balloons because they think it is an epic form of creativity.

I would much prefer to see most art in places where everyone can see it. Or historic artefacts. Not hidden away by some trophy collector to massage their ego.
