TV gives you a better view of the detail, but you have to be at the match to see the big picture - formation, running off the ball etc. OK, the pundits can sometimes deconstruct that, but only to demonstrate a particular point such as defensive errors

I agree in principle, but my stream missed 3 of the Bournemouth goals, apparently - unless people have been making stuff up and we really did win 2-1

I haven't been to a game since the Southampton Cup semi-final, but I would defend to the hilt my right to call all our players, and the manager, ****s on this forum.

The original crazy gang. Got taken over by some mob from Liverpool and renamed. Would suggest you don't buy insurance from them if you call yourself a proper football fan. Try AFC Northwich Victoria instead.

I was in the 3rd row from the front and for the first time I can remember at an away match I didn't have to stand up once. Plenty of depth between the rows and lots of leg room

No. To have an authoritative opinion you need to have been at the match, watched the whole thing on TV afterwards, and have agreed with me on how it went. Especially the last of these

This sums him up but thinking back how daft were we when we were that age? You cant teach someone to be big, strong, fast and run with the ball well but he can learn better movement and decision making

The question we should ask about Success is has he got potential and has he improved? I'd say yes to both given a few years ago he was making headlines for the wrong reason and looking like he has no future at the club and now he is second choice after Deeney with Gray pushed further down and Okaka gone.

The other question is should we be more patient? For me he lead the line better than a lot of prem players in that round of the cup. I think the guy is still 23 (he's got a year older since my last post above lol), what i'm saying is he's still a kid, there's still time to develop is he really wants it and we want it

Unless, of course, you are an occasional attendee and the only only tickets available to you are for the lower reaches of the GT stand - and you forgot to bring your wide-angle periscope.

Or you're an away fan at Crystal Palace.

While I’d love to think you were right about Success, I’ll just point out that Luther had scored 53 goals for us by his 23rd birthday.

Unfortunately we haven't got another Luther on our hands, guess best we can hope for is another Darius Henderson with the traits of David Connolly!

It was just a very disjointed performance, especially the second half. If we’d carried on where we left off in the first half then I suspect we’d be talking 0-4 rather than 0-2. Football doesn’t always go the way you think it will or should. I can understand the frustrations as these players are payed very well and I don’t doubt that Javi, behind closed doors, is livid with that second half. Now those players have to go out and prove themselves again, be that due to an injury for a Prem game or the next round.

My personal feeling it was a job done. No one will be saying, “yes, but did you see how amateur they were against Woking” if we get to the quarter-finals or further. Irrespective of the opponents we will have plenty of off days. Performance wise this was one but most of the players out there on Sunday are capable of so much more and I suspect that is what a lot of people are most frustrated about.

Edit: Yes, I do appreciate that we could have got sucker punched by a freak goal but, if we’re honest, that looked as likely as us turning over Liverpool 4-0 at Anfield later this season.

He made a good run across the defender and the keeper made a decent save when Janmaat put a low cross in during the first half. He made a good run when we were counter attacking and Quina selfishly blazed it over the top. He also made a good run when we were breaking in the second half and Chalobah messed up an easy ball into him from the right flank that would've put him in one on one with his marker nowhere in sight. None of our players on the pitch with Success got to the byeline like Sema did and put a ball across the six yard box like that.

Don't get me wrong, he had a bad game but he can hardly be blamed for his movement if his team mates are incapable/too selfish to slip him in when he's completely free.

In fact, any player who'd mastered the art of flight would be nigh on unstoppable, and I bet there's nothing in the rules about it either. It can be our new loophole!

Being in Vancouver I only see games on TV (I do see ALL of them) but I agree we don't see the big picture. The deconstructs are only of critical moments whereas at a game the big picture is available all the time.

Perhaps they have just worked out that there's little point in passing to him anywhere near the goal ?

Yes and he runs Malcolm Poskett very close for the #1 spot.
I jest, Vydra is obviously #1.

    Diagonal crosses into the box.

We seem weak at defending these.
