Point clearly made. But it also cuts both ways: I used to say 'I'll play in any position you choose, even centre back although I'm not really big enough - but don't put me in goal unless you want to lose the game.'

I know a no-shower who just sells his ticket every week so to the club it probably looks like he's attending. That's a problem.

If he sells his seat it's not a problem though, is it? It's empty seats that are the issue.

Maybe, but the one thing we do need is different options. Even if he’s been below par, Wolves will be only too aware of his threat. If that means they put an extra little bit of effort in marking him then more room for everyone else.

I will say that the thing about the second half last night is that there were no obvious key men as such. I know Fulham probably made us look a notch better but when you are relying on one or two supposedly stand out players and they are constantly under pressure, and often do not move the ball quick enough, it can be easier to defend. When you’ve got half a dozen or so very attack minded players moving well for each other with no little skill then you cannot single anyone out.

Of all the decisions Javi has had up to now Sunday’s team selection may just be the toughest.

I can understand no showing when we're shyte, but we are flipping ace at the minute, and last night's sound thrashing was always on the cards. How can you just not be arsed to watch us at the moment? (obviously some people have legitimate reasons not to be there).

I always knew that Capoue and I had something in common.

Rather a lot of self-righteous and even hyperbolic stuff on here about the fact the attendance was about 3000 below normal. It's a little bit disappointing, but that's all. There was a number of perfectly good explanations given. I'll give another couple: There is a rather nasty cold germ going the rounds at the moment and it was p*ssing down until shortly before the game; you can generally find the game on your laptop if you know where to look.
But still people go on and on. I rather suspect some posters enjoy a good moan and enjoy the feeling of making a moral issue of it (On a football forum - Who'd have thought?). All those empty seats were paid for and maybe those people would have liked to go but couldn't.
    The politics of envy.

Outside of legit reasons it is bloody odd. When we’re firing like this I can’t wait to go to the next game, whether it be Arsenal in a couple of weeks, a getting relegated Fulham or, maybe in the distant future, someone really **** like L***n. Unlike the bigger clubs this is not a regular occurrence so god knows why you’d want to miss out.

Yes, in fact I thought all the players did - over and above the standard. Mind you, I also thought there was an element of surprise in there.

My 10 year old nephew is louder than most of our fans at games. Could be fun up in the heavens on Sunday. Interrupting peoples picnics.

The thing that annoys me the most is that it would have been full yesterday if we played a top 6 team. All those "It's raining" or "It's a Tuesday" excuses get thrown right out the window when their favourite team comes storming down to the Vic.

Now, I understand that people are unable to go, I had to give my father and brothers tickets to two mates because they were both busy. Can't make it? Fair enough. When you're able to prioritise Watford over all else when Man U come knocking, you're not a worthy season ticket holder imho.

Either way, for what the attendance was and how "unimportant" yeaterdays game was, I thought the atmosphere wasn't too shabby. We do need to get the 1881 in the centre of the Rookery, it makes a huge difference

I've just checked it out and that was the lowest attendance since we beat Reading 4-1 in the Championship on 14th March 2015. Nearly 4 years ago!!

Because there are people legitimately waiting to watch their team and these people just get to go and may not even be wfc fans.

I know you're joking but I really did convince myself that Alexandre Geijo was going to step up and fire us into the Premier League against Palace.

Then his moment came, he dropped his shoulder, let the ball run across him taking the opponent out of the game, on the edge of the box, saw the whites of the keeper's eyes... and hit a pea-roller straight to him with barely enough pace to reach the goal line.

But isn’t that another way to potentially attract new fans? By having them come along and be enticed to come again?

The club did this last season but the uptake was extremely poor and wasn't worth doing again.

Sex dolls. They are the solution. Bring them with you midweek to fill the spare seats. I always have a few in the boot if anyone wants one. Genuine offer.

Pereyra has just posted on Instagram that his partner gave birth to another child of theirs today. Kinda understandable if that had an effect on his performance last night or if he had to dash off. Admirable that he played at all if she was on or near her due date to be fair!

Question is, did the first half performance trick you into leaving before half time?

But they’ve resold their tickets to Watford fans in your scenario. What is the problem?

It's not my scenario. I'm just speculating that they might have sold to spurs fans or worse.

Buying a ST for profiteering surely cant be right.

I don’t think they did. Last year was half to charity, half to the club as a double bubble revenue. Happy to be proved wrong.

As someone who only attends one or two games a season I'm in no position to question others.

But something I do wonder is why fans are so desperate to watch the likes of Man City and Liverpool. When I come to games I'd rather watch us play a team we are likely to or at least have a good chance of beating. I get no joy at all watching us get played off the park and even less watching us lose.

I'm not sure what category of fan I am, day tripper maybe, but when I come up it's more likely to be a Barnsley, Southend, Huddersfield etc than a top side.

I’m the same. I am a season ticket holder. I miss about 3 or 4 games a year and try and get club to re-sell. I would much prefer to miss playing Man City than Fulham.

From memory, I think I am right in saying that we have only lost two games against non top six clubs so far this season (Muff and Leicester?) and I think that demonstrates that we are in the right place in the table. Furthermore, I think that we have rarely played as well as we can do, being being below par too often. Whilst i can forgive defenders not keeping world class forwards at bay, I struggle with how often we give the ball away. We will only improve.

And I think we have a good 20 odd players who can play without significantly weakening our line up. I bet there are only a handful of teams that can say that.

    The future is bright!
