Javi doesn't agree with the decision. Very unlike him to question the officials. Think we might be looking at a 4 game ban :(

I only saw a video of someone's TV on Twitter showing a replay of the Deeney sending off, but it looked completely innocuous and unintentional.

I cant blame Troy for that, unless there's something more that I've not seen.

Ref is bent. I'm calling Steve Arnott and Ted Hastings at AC12. I think we've found the Caddy.

Unfortunately I don’t think it is worth it. I don’t it think it was that bad and on a taller player it may have looked different. Ultimately it was a stupid thing for Deeney to do and it won’t ever be rescinded. Not helped by his previous comments about hitting them early to see if they are up for it. Hard to be too angry with him after his penalty at Wembley though.

Great performance despite having 10 men. We deserved something from that,

Proud of the lads tonight, we definitely deserved something, annoyed with Foster for dwelling on the ball, and obviously Deeney. Whether or not it's soft he should never have allowed himself to be in the position to get sent off.

Gray isn't a lone striker but did as well as he could. Massina was very good tonight but Capoue is my man of the match.

As for Arsenal, I hope the w*****s go bankrupt.

Need to win all our remaining home games now, most without Troy.

Wolves will absolutely smash Arsenal. I think Fulham would too looking at that shower of 300k a week players. I can't believe we've come away with nothing there.

There's so much in this team that it would be a travesty if we walked away without getting into Europe.

Arsenal's fans wouldn't be out of place in the upper GT based on tonight. Were they holding a vigil or something?

Brilliant battling performance tonight , I’m sure we would have won that with ten men . Arsenal were very lucky , even their goal was fortunate although obviously good pressuring from aubaymeyang. Fosters been brilliant for us this season so can forgive him that error .

We had enough chances to win even with ten men. Thought Capoue and Doucoure absolutely dominated and we defended very well . Definitely Masinas best game for us .

I didn’t see the red card incident at all though heard people saying at half time it was supposed to be an elbow. Hopefully we can appeal as Gray did look a bit lost without Deeney alongside him .

Also hope we can get Gerry back from injury soon . Presumably Pereyra is injured too .

    At least we are still
In the battle for 7th . Look forward to HB 1s anti Watford conspiracy post

Very easy to be angry with Deeney.

    Brainless & self indulgent.

Dumped on his teammates tonight, & for the next 3 games.

I really hope Gray thrives & earns the Wembley start.

A fantastic performance. The effort and commitment from everyone single player was amazing and they should all be proud.

Special shout out to Abdoulaye Doucoure who was immense, he tried to win the game on his own at times! Daryl Janmaat was excellent too I thought. Everyone played well though.

How did Andre Gray go from his Fulham first touch, to today? Should've scored twice. Struggled as a lone striker but to be expected.

Jose Holebas I will never take you for granted again, some shocking set pieces today.

I genuinely believe with Deeney on the pitch or a bench today, we win. Imagine if Cleverley, Pereyra & Deoulofeu were all fit. Would've allowed us to be much more flexible with the starting XI and bench.

Isaac Success will never ever cut it at Premier League level, he's not even young. 23 years old. Needs a major upturn in development if he's going to make it, can't see it happening. All the physical attributes, no brain.

Great effort from all players except for sema and success, especially given how early we dropped to 10 men.

Success is a disgrace and put in no effort, wasn’t chasing down the ball like the others and contributed next to nothing. I know we currently have limited options, but he shouldnt be it!

I didn't think Sema was on long enough to make a full judgement but less effective than Massina.

I thought success popped up in a few good spaces, won a free kick, one decent bit of skill....but how can a professional footballer have such an inability to pass the ball to someone in his own team??

Good performance considering the early red card.

Even the best goalies make one error a season ..

Thought we took the game to Arsenal at times and could have nicked a point .

Masina had his best game for us and Capoue was excellent .

Just needed more composure up front !

Another great performance with nothing to show from it. As javi said earlier this season the results will start to come against the top 6. Arsenal were w**k, had we Troy for the 90mins wed of slaughtered them. Even without if Gray had a first touch that would of been a different score. Can’t really blame Foster for the goal. Janmatt should of put that down the line. Be a 3 match ban for Troy anyone else and it gets rescinded. Never a red imo. They were just falling over from the start Xhaka in corner with masina in first 5 set the tone.

Just seen the red card. From one angle it looks iffy, from the other angle it's a straight red. What a t*t.
I think we'll be fine without him and he'll have a good rest before the cup final. Win win.

Otherwise outstanding, (apart from Success who I don't want to see in a Watford shirt again). Arsenal fans quieter than my local library.

    Success was poor.

Ridiculous comment about Sema who came in the 86th minute.

Gracia's right to say Deeney caught him but it was never a red card. Having been given though I very much doubt it'll be overturned.

Janmaat is a great player. Massively underappreciated by a lot of Watford fans. Much better player than Femenia for me, who only has pace over him.

I'm sorry but players catch each other with their arms like that in every single game. If it was a red card then I expect to see a red card given in almost every single game any team plays in going forward. It wasn't an elbow or particularly aggressive at all, just a weak, flailing arm.

Ridiculously soft. Just another excuse for the officials to shaft Watford and bum up to the big 6 side. The bias is disgusting.

Well there you are. A howler by Foster, Deeney all angry about it after a good opening by us, and gets sent off. He might have got a yellow from another ref, but the linesman said he threw an elbow and unfortunately Deeney gave him the opportunity to think that. Arsenal were poor and without those terrible errors of judgement I think we would have won that game. Now I think we have bigger problems for the next three games. Without Deeney we look poor upfront. Honestly I would prefer Capoue upfront than Gray, who demonstrated his lack of talent and guile tonight. A full hearted performance by him, but lacks the quality and the ball always seems to get away from him. But if the alternative is Success p, (a player who puts in so little) we really have no alternative but to play Gray from the start until Deeney returns to the squad. Great performances from Capoue and Decoure, Cathcart, Massina and Janmat. The effort cannot be doubted, but thought Hughes lacked that bit of quality to make his final pass and shots effective. It's a shame because I think we threw away the chance of three points.

I hate this d!cking around which is the current goalie fad.

It may well have cost us 3 points tonight.

I don’t see the orgy of Foster Hoddlesque passes/mountain of goalie assists which makes it a viable strategy.

Sema I have time for. He's not great but he's giving his all. Unfortunately today he was replacing a Masina on a mission. Adam showed incredible pace at times today and real commitment. If that shot had been under, instead of on the bar, hed have written himself into folk hero status tonight.

Success came on after 9 outfield players had been chasing every ball for 64 minutes and he looked more knackered than anyone else. Utter toilet. Hope he gets shipped out. His attitude is inherently poor and he's lacking in ability.

I completely agree with this. I just don't see it getting overturned. Deeney caught him in the face. That's all the evidence the panel will need and would, I believe, result in an extended ban. If that's a normal red card then sunday league games would end up about 3 a side!

I think better evidence would be Torreria's pathetic attempt to go down. It wasn't natural at all, it took his brain about 3 seconds to realise there was a chance for a red card, he then drops with his hands covering the wrong part of his face and is back on his feet perfectly fine? (If memory serves me correct haven't seen it again)

If Troy Deeney elbows you with intent you'd fecking feel it!!
