I'm sure there must be a few potential signings at Leeds as their players must be getting fed up with getting so close but ending up so far away season after season, some of them must be ripe for the picking me thinks.

Only two I think are worth looking at are Phillips and Roberts (maybe Jansson too). Hernandez is too old.

Dallas, Jansson, Cooper and Jack Clarke are all good players who would be worthwhile to us. Kemar Roofe is decent too.

I mentioned Cooper and Clarke a bit earlier in this thread. Although Cooper had an absolute shocker last night. :(

Clarke appears to be worth a punt as an eventual replacement for Hughes at right wing, seems a real prospect.

Out of Cooper and Jansson I'd still probably pick Cooper, despite his off day yesterday. Jansson looks too much like he's treading water when having to run.

As per my post above, have to disagree on that (other than the Hernandez being too old part). Phillips looks below Chalobah in quality, Jack Clarke was voted Leeds' young player of the season ahead of Roberts, and I think Cooper would adapt a bit better to the PL than Jansson.

Jansson couldn't even make the starting 11 vs Derby. Has he lost form ? Cooper was dreadful...yet still started ahead of Jansson.

Jansson was missing as he was still coming back from an injury.

Cooper and Jansson have been their first choice pairing all season when fit. Cooper is their captain, and also has Leeds' highest player rating on whoscored. Jansson has their second highest whoscored rating.

I think the other night was a bit of an anomaly for Cooper; the couple of other times I've seen him this season, including in the first playoff leg, he's looked class for them.

Jansson would fit in with the fans well.

Sitting there in silence aghast at what's just happened before him.

Adam Webster at Bristol City is probably the other Championship CB who is most highly rated at the mo. They only signed him last summer for around £5mil, though is a good age at 24. He has the best "aerials won" stats out of all regularly playing CBs in the Championship with 6.4 per game (Cooper is third at 6.2 per game). Only question mark I'd put against him is that he also seems to lack a bit of pace and agility, though isn't dreadful in this department. Cooper is a bit quicker and sharper, but his stupid decisions vs Villa would have made any of our current CBs proud.

I think he was spooked by having to play in front of a truly awful goalkeeper.

Wonder how Mino Raiola being banned will affect our activity as we do a lot of business with that fat ****.

A younger, hungrier Deeney Mk2, that isn’t coming out with rubbish in the media every other week. It’s a yes from me

Still think we should put in for Alex Barboza (CB) of Defensa Y Justicia. Tough mean tackler, solid aerially and good with the ball at his feet. Renzo Saravia (RB) of Racing. Swift athletic right back who delivers a mean cross and defends very competently.

I presume you were trying to quote my post about Che Adams but failed? He's no better than Deeney or Gray, nor do I envisage him ever being so. I'm tired of sub-par Brummy strikers.

If we're after a new central midfielder, we could do a lot worse than sign Sander Berge - currently starring in the Belgian league for Genk, with whom we probably have good links to having already signed Kabasele from there. Supposedly we were scouting Genk around January 2018 and a couple of posters on here suggested that he could have been the reason.

Berge has just stated in a post-match interview that he definitely wants to move in the summer. Good technique, strong in the tackle, and gets up and down the pitch well. At 21 with more room to develop as well. Would probably cost about £12mil.

Yes, it would be truly awful to sign a player in the mould of our 4th all-time top goal scorer...

I don't see how Adam's is anything like Deeney? A lot quicker for a start.

Jack Clarke, for sure. Don't see any of the others being an improvement on what we've got tbh.

Jansson and Cooper are better defenders than Mariappa. Not even close. They maybe aren't the standard we need as I think we need real, recognised quality there but they would be an improvement for sure. I think we are a striker short and Roofe is a very good player too.

That still doesn't mean he's not a below-average PL striker.

Heard a rumour from a friend of Neil Etheridge that us and West Ham are interested in him - wouldn't surprise me as I know we have been linked before.

Kalvin Philips from Leeds, young, English can play midfield or at centre half, comfortable with the ball also. Would be a very good signing
