    I'd make a bid for Coutinho. If we can get to the price Barca won't pay, I think he'd be a better midfield backup than Ben Watson.

    Several media outlets are saying Man United are willing to let Luke Shaw go in the January window. We appear to be second favourites for his signature behind his return to the Saints. Swansea and Palace are the other clubs interested. I see parallels with Kiko coming to us with Silva being a coach to get him back to where he was two seasons ago. Is he worth the risk as a Holebas replacement?

    Absolutely worth the risk if we can afford him. Our defence is massively letting us down at the moment and our left back position is one of the priorities to have sorted out.

    Shaw (or someone similar) and a good center back should be what the club are looking for in January.

    Then, maybe sort out a replacement striker for either Okaka or Deeney

    Would happily have him on a loan with option to buy deal. As much as I like Holebas, he makes some horrendous mistakes and his positioning is woeful

    A) this should be in the suggestions thread
    B) If it was, you'd see this has already been discussed
    C) He's talented (his form before getting injured was fantastic), but he's mentally weak and has been performing awfully in the U23s. I'd want us to sign him in an instant if he genuinely wants to knuckle down, progress his career and take a pay cut. I imagine he will sign for a desperate club, which pays him 100k a week plus, and doesn't get too annoyed at him for being fat and lazy. I'd be happy with a loan, with an option to buy.
    D) if we were going to sign a player from United reserves, I'd take Tuanzebe. He's a centre back, and has all the physical attributes to be a top player, but without the lack of mental fight.

    Where have you got this idea that he is "fat"? He is nowhere near as big as Kolasinac - who is arguably one of the better LB's in the league

    I don't think he'll come here because of the drop in wages he'd be forced to take. But in defense of his playing ability, I believe he's still struggling psychologically from his shocking leg break. On top of that, his manager has publicly hung him out to dry on numerous occasions, and repeatedly criticised him in the press which seems to have destroyed his confidence. I thought he looked excellent when playing under Pochettino at Southampton.
