Strambouli - I was invited to a box on 5th August at Palace v Schalke. Strambouli played at right back and made Zaha look like an idiot for 50 minutes, without any bookings but with crunching well times tackles. As soon as they subbed him, Zaha went on the rampage. I know he is billed as a holding midfielder ( who we wanted when he was at Spurs before going to PSG ) but he looked seriously good and Schalke do not appear to want him.

 

Tottenham didn't want him, PSG didn't want him, Schalke didn't want him. I'm starting to notice a theme here, Schalke are good but they're nowhere near a Top 4 Prem team so if they don't want him says a lot for me.

 

Reminds me of that player we were heavily linked with from Spurs, Stambouli was his name I think

 

This player is a LB named Guilherme Arana(20) - Corinthians

He will probably be the LB of the Brazilian NT after the World Cup.
They refused sell him to Sevilla for $18mi so he's not so cheap.

He's very composed in front of the goal and can finish as a 9 when he get a chance:




He's already better than majority of Brazilian LBs in europe, i rate him only behind Marcelo and Alex Sandro.
Watford could sign him, he can help the team one, two seasons, then sell him for a ton of money.

 

Denayer doesn't seem to be in Pep's plans. Would be a decent back up option at centre back.

 

Weird goings on at Valencia. They were set to sign Murillo, but asked to entice fellow Inter player Kondogbia on loan, upsetting Spaletti who responded by blocking the Murillo move. Valencia now turn to Gabriel from Arsenal.

Abdennour will definitely have to leave now, whilst Murillo is clearly available for transfer. I'd get both!

West Brom after Kevin Wimmer from Spurs. We should sign him.

 

Murillo has pozzo links so could be possible. Not too familiar with his play though.

 

No idea either, but the person who got excited because Andre Carrillo sounds likes Jason Derulo will faint with joy.

TBH it was a bizarre purchase by WHU in January in the first place, I didn't think that he was much more than a Championship striker who can trouble a keeper from a set piece.

 

No longer needed at West Ham and they would apparently accept a loan or permanent transfer. Can play out wide or in the middle and good at set pieces - Thoughts???

 

Thoughts?? Yes mate I have loads of them, None of which include Robert Snodgrass anywhere near our team.

 

Oliver Burke been told he's free to leave Leipzig apparently... would be a far better investment than Snodgrass.

Troy could reinvent himself as a CB, Marcus Gayle style

 

We'll definitely bring in a new keeper who that is will dictate the order.
Presume we'll use Karnezis as a fall back option if we fail with other targets.

Gibbs interest seems to be finished no idea who were looking at but we definitely need competition there.

We have been getting linked with centre backs so assuming we're still in the market there.

I would say 3 more in. Troy out. Loan out for Dje Dje and Sinclair. Maybe one CB out. I also think a late bid for Made of Glass Darryl might see him go, assuming he can pass the medical...

 

I suggested that last season, he seems to be able to defend corners well.

 

I think every team needs four centre backs who you would be happy if they had to play 15+ games a season. Should we get a couple of injuries, I'm not sure I'm confident enough in Kabasele yet and Mariappa should be nowhere near a Premier League starting XI.

Noticed that Gabriel and Murillo have both gone to Valencia this week. No idea where the Abdennour thread has gone, but he must surely be available.

 

I know his name has been mentioned before but we all rubbished it as Levy stated he wanted at least £20mil for Wimmer. Well according to Sky that seems to have dropped to £15mil. If that is true, I would hope we at least show the ambition and go in for him at that price.

 

I was one of the few who rubbished it. Mainly because people were suggesting that Levy would be happy to sell to us for about £7/8m. For the record, I'd pay £15m for him in today's market.
